the chemist or lipotrim would be the best to advise i think, unless someone knows the answer on here.

she could also look into cambridge diet too, that is similar.

hope she gets on ok. she can always order the maintainance packs from LT direct anyway and try doing that to start with if she is too young for tfr.

Thanks, she's gonna ring them tomorrow, I think she's got her hopes up and wants to know now. I've managed to find an old post with a few people saying they think it's 16 :)

I think 16 is very young for TFR. I would be worried for her. Hormone levels are all over the place at that age. I also think she should get the palpatations diagnosed before even thinking about tfr. They could be anything at that age.

I would also query the maturity level .......I mean as an adult you can say I am stopping eating and going on TFR. But as a young teenager my fear would be eating disorder. Maybe I am way off.....but I would have alarm bells ringing if a daughter of mine did tfr at 16.

Just my opinion.

Quite embrassing to say but I suffer from depression and anxiety attacks(panic attacks)
I was honest and told chemist all that I was and what I suffered from and I didn't have any problems.

As someone who has been overweight all my life and picked on by parents and grandparents, also sent they sent me ww when I was 16. I would say tread carefully, she is so young, may be some dietry advice from a dietrician and careful exercise might start to get her on the right path. She has my full sympathies, it......sends me straight back there:tear_drop::tear_drop::tear_drop:
This diet is very harsh for someone so young. I would encourage her to see the dr 1st.

I'd have to agree that 16 seems young to take on something like TFR and I wouldn't like my daughter to go on it when she is 16 but I think after trying so many diets she's fed up of the weight

She has had the palp's diagnosed when they did some full tests on her heart (not really sure about it) I'm gonna get her to log in and reply :)

Heya guys, I have had a total check over of my heart and have had it monitored and the doctor said that it seemed fine, she then said that the palpatations could be caused through stress and anxiety, which which i suffer a lot from. I also told her that once while at school doing a speech in front of my class i almost fainted, i couldnt hear anything or see clearly and almost fell to the floor. I was experiencing a severe anxiety attack through all the stress of speaking aloud infront of my class. I also have the stress at home of being a young carer for my sick father. I havnt had a heart palp in a very long time and i think that that is because i havnt been at school because of the six weeks holidays. I do believe that I get heart palps because of my anxiety and my anxiety because of the huge lack in confidence i have when with my peers.
I am very mature for my age you can ask anyone that, however i do feel that just because im not super skinny doesnt mean i dont have an eating disorder, i feel that currently i have an eating disorder because it is not normal to be the weight that i am and if i dont lose this weight it will have a serious affect on me later on in life. I suffer a lot with depression because of family problems. I dont drink, smoke or take drugs the only comfort for me is food. i dont even socialise with people because i dont have the confidence to go out and make friends, this also make me feel isolated and depressed.
i have tried many diets, i went on the Slimfast diet with Lissy25 and i stayed at her house for a few days so we could help each other avoid any urges for sweets and snacks but as soon as i came home i didnt have that support and went back to my same old ways. i also just tried eating healthy and exercising regularly but it was very hard for me beause i have no support at all as it is only myself and my dad at home. I am reluctant to go on any faddy diets as i know they can harm your body and are not a healthy option to pick. I look after myself well, and understand the advantages and disadvantages of going on LT. I do feel though that LT will be good for me because it will completly reeducate my body and brain about eating and help stop my bad eating habits. I have also read that you lose the weight very quickly, which I think will be good for me because it will give me that great confidence boost i need. This hopefully will then stop me from feeling depressed so much which in return will not only make me psychologically healthy but physically healthy.

Hi Shannon,

I don't know if lipotrim is right for you given your age as others have said, but I am very impressed with your self awareness and maturity, and whatever happens I wish you well.

If you don't end up being able to do lipotrim just yet you would still be welcome on here and I am sure we would all offer you support whatever plan you undertake.

One thing you will find on here is a lot of people who have know how it feels to be overweight xx

Hi again, thanks for the replies i went to the chemist this afternoon and they accepted me onto the programme, which im very pleased about. However if i feel after the first week that i can not carry on anymore i will stop and use an alternative method of weight loss. i really feel positive about LT and a couple of my friends are going to support me while im at school and i have this website at home so that makes me feel better. im looking forward to losing weight with you guys and rebuilding my confidence.

TRIVENAM

Getting there!!!

hey shannon...im 21 and have had panic attacks and depression and high blood pressure for the last year. i got all of this after my first and only baby!! lol...shes 19months now :) anyway i put on 5 stones over the period and i lost 1 stone myself through tae bo etc etc..all my life ive been trying to keep my weight at an acceptable level eg..wat society thinks these days as acceptable?? but i failed every time!! when i realised my blood pressure was out of control and i was admitted to hospital for minor activity with my heart i decided this is it. NO MORE MEDICATION-ill do this myself. its all in the mind. when i went for my last check up my blood pressure was still 169/110!!! i got another prescription for 1 month of tabs to control it and was told not to start LT until it reduced and i was advised to try gentle exercise and low fat eating.

so as i walked to the chemist with my prescription i was so upset-i put the prescription in the bin and made an appt for myself to start LT.

SINCE STARTING IM DOWN FRO 14'2 TO 12'11 IN FOUR WEEKS AND I HAVE JUST UNDER NORMAL BLOOD PRESSURE!

sometimes its better to go with your own instincts and do what makes you a better person, its your choice and god only knows how long i would have been on tabs to lower my bp.

i support you 110% and well done!! :D

Shannon this post brought tears to me:cry:. I really just want to give you a big hug :hug99: You are so strong and mature and you have had to be with your Dad to care for. I was one of the ones that didn't think you should do LT, but having read your post I think you are mature and should give it a go.

My main concern was the palpatations and if they are stress and anxiety then go for it..... but PLEASE keep posting here. You NEED support doing this and we will all be here.

Good Luck hun!

Geez, Shannon, I can identify with you a little I had a hellish childhood and was homeless at 16, and it's just not freaking fair that teenagers have such difficult stuff to cope with, when it should be about having fun and learning how to be in the world.

If you don't mind me making a suggestion, maybe an eating disorders association might be a good source of support for you as well or counselling via the doctor. I read your story and I think support support support, I'm 38 and I would find your situation challenging, so you do have a lot to deal with and you deserve support and clearly you do well when you get it.

take care xxx
