Race For Life

    my biggest dream is to be fit and slim enough to do the race for life 5k run.

    ive lost a few very close people to cancer and its heartbreaking. ive always wanted to do the race but i always put it off saying ill do it next year ill do it the year after etc.

    as i am planning on sticking 100% to ww for the first time in my life its something im really considering.

    now i dont no how fast the weight is going to come off so it will either be next year or the year after but i am really really hoping and looking forward to do it as it would be such an acheivment and i would feel so proud to of done it for my family members and friend that i have lost to cancer.

    so the whole reason for this topic was to see if anyone has done it before or something like it or if anyone would like to do it in the future??

    hi there

    I'm doing the race for life this year, i have a very dodgy painful leg and with 3 stone to lose it makes it worse. Im restarting focusing on end of june as id like to complete the race for life even if i dont run it...so so many people walk it, so if you can walk you could go for it. I dont think its really a race......

    Hi im doing it this year for the first time.:D

    I wanted to run it but my WW friend said she would only enter if i walked it with her...:)

    I have done the race for life three times before..I was at least two stone heavier the first time I did it and I just walked. I have ran it twice and I am doing it this year (in 12 days) with my 10 year old daughter. It is a great atmosphere and you get ladies of all shapes, sizes and ability cheering each other on to the finish.

    I found training for the race in the past has been a great way of being focussed on eating good healthy foods and I just went at my own pace and aimed to beat my time the next year.

    If it is something that is important to you GO FOR IT!!
