Looking for Slimville!
Hello there.
I'm Erin and according to BMI I am obese!!
I'm attempting to lose weight for the umpteenth time. I've always been trying to 'slim down' - even when I was a perfectly normal and healthy weight as a teenager.
My first big diet was the Cambridge Diet. I went on it in October 2006 when I was 19 and weighed 154lbs. By Christmas that year I was 126lbs.
It didn't last. And now I've put on all the weight I had lost plus more...
I'm attempting the old fashioned route of healthy eating and exercise. I started on Wednesday last week and , despite a few hiccups, have been doing alright.
However, I have started a new antidepressant called mirtazapine (started Thursday night) which is quite notorious for inducing weight gain. I think it's because it acts as a bit of an appetite stimulant so I'm hoping if I don't cave in to the hunger pangs I'll be able to lose the weight while I'm on the meds.
I'm also getting blood test results back on Wednesday regarding my thyroid. My Thyroid Stimulating Hormone was at a higher level than normal which may be indicative of an underactive thyroid but I'm hoping this isn't the case.
I don't really have any long-term weight goal. I just want to take it bit by bit and see how I feel. I'm not so hung up about the numbers on the scales - although it would be nice to see them going down.
