Hi,
My Mother in Law lives in Gennadi which is south of the island. Rhodes Old town is nice to visit although it's very commercialised. There are alot of street touters trying to get your into the tavernas and they sell cheap tat if I'm honest.
Whilst your there Lindos is most definitely worth a visit, although whatever the temperature in Rhodes town, easily add another 10 degrees for the temp in Lindos!
