Sarah's Pregnancy/Breastfeeding & Everything Else Food Diary - F&H

I can't wait to hear all about it in the next 10wks 3days, it's such an exciting time for you x

Yes very exciting and also scary. I'll still be here after 10 weeks. I will take some time to adjust to my new life and Breastfeeding n stuff. Then once I'm ready jump right back on. I will try stick to plan as much as I can to be honest but it's not the end of the world if I don't.

Of course not! You'll have your beautiful baby daughter to concentrate on! Least u can do PP when breast feeding, might be a little bit easier to follow as you might not always have time to cook from scratch x

That's only whilst they are breast feeding solo, once they go onto food with breast feeding it reduces to 7 extra pp. X

Today
I've felt rubbish all day. Im tired, moody and can't be bothered to do anything. The pp day become a pp day once I got home and couldn't be bothered to cook. I love being pregnant but it sure takes a lot out of you some days.

Tuesday is cherry day! Past 3 weeks I have walked to get some cherries from the market. Then scoffed them at my desk :)

The market is open Tuesday and Friday and is next to my work. I usually work at home on a Friday, so Tuesday I go to market as the fruit and veg is a great price and good quality. And the Cherries taste amazing :)
 
Sarah, lovely food day your doing so well, I calorie counted during my last pg and gained 6lbs by 38.5 wks but I did allow a few treat days. Hope you manage to get some rest tonight x

That's good dedication. I think pp is similar to calorie counting. Which is why I would struggle as some days I don't have a big appetite. Then other days I could eat everything in site. F&H helps limit my piggy days to bigger portions of healthy food at least.

How many calories did you allow yourself while pregnant btw? My midwife said during third trimester a pregnant woman needs an extra 300 calories per day. 6lbs during the whole pregnancy? If that is right you did amazing.

im 12 weeks pregnant and was told ww not recommended to pregnant women - so im trying not to over eat and to eat a balanced diet but not countin points etc!

Well in this market there are 8 fruit and veg stores and there are only 2 I'd use. Some of the others occasionally have good stuff but I don't really bother looking.

Thanks. It's still doesn't feel real, my belly is moving around all the time and I have constant kicks, but I still can't believe I'm going to be a mummy.

Congratulations!! 12 weeks....so I'm guessing your still a bit tired?? How is it all going so far and how was your scan?

I started weight watchers about 10 days ago. I was originally a low risk pregnancy, healthy BMI etc. I did eat a lot in 1st trimester as it was the only way to stop myself puking. So I gained more weight than I would have liked. 2nd trimester I was fine. I have family members with diabetes so I had the glucose test at 28 weeks. I then found out I had gestational diabetes. My levels were not too high and the midwife said it could probably be controlled by diet. I get extra scans etc to make sure baby doesn't grow too quickly. The midwife suggested slimming world as a healthy diet plan to follow. But I thought I'd give F&H a go instead. I eat as much of the foods as I want and don't worry about portion size. Then the processed food I eat is limited to 49pp per week. It seems to be working as my blood sugars have reduced dramatically. I'm not bothered about weight loss and I'm tempted to not have a WI day. I haven't been hungry since I started so I know I'm not restricting myself too much. I don't think pp would be a good option while pregnant. But I'm a firm believe that the body tells us what it wants. The great thing about F&H is, if I am sat watching tv at night and feel hungry, I can grab a crumpet or some popcorn, or any of the other free food, not feel guilty. Rather than grabbing a huge chocolate bar. A healthy baby is my main aim ;)

Indian type rice biryani type dish. I used chicken, wholewheat rice, lots of mixed veg, chilli, curry sauce (2pp)
WW Naan (3pp)
Samosa (2pp)

That's a lot of weeklies used, I didn't realise how many until I put them in app. I have 18 left for 2 days. So 9 each day!! So I'm doing well

ohh i see :) thats good then hun! glad u have it under control!
i deffo agree with the aim for an healthy baby and i wont deprive myself of anything whilst im pregnant!
i do start to feel really tired around 4 o clock and my back aches already!
i havent had much morning sickness - ive felt sick a lot tho rather than actually bein sick! i kept the ginger biscuits at the side of the bed ;)
i could only eat toast and was eating it for every meal! it was the only thing i could keep down - oh and crisps!
but its got better and ive actually been eating meals
but now my appetite on an evening isnt very good - i have bfast lunch and snacks but by dinner time i dont fancy anything to eat!
havent had my scan yet hun its monday afternoon and i cant wait :D x
