Saturdays off?

This Is my second week doing ts. I've less than a stone to lose now.
All last week I was 100% then on Saturday I had my three shakes plus a takeaway. Now I couldn't eat anywhere near what I use too and had a small amount and I've been back on track since with just three shakes.
The scales didnt move on sun morning so I guess that's better than putting on. And I've lost since. Do u think it would be ok to have an extra meal on Saturdays from now on?

I only ask because its what keeps me on track , being a single mum Saturdays r my days where my daughter gets babysat and I socialise and enjoy myself

In a word no. You're totally wasting your time if you have a night off every week. You'll gain water weight then lose it and not much else. Vlcds are hard going but sadly they're not like other diets where you can have a treat night.

If your takeaway was good choices, meat, no sauce, no carbs etc then it's not so bad. If you want a 'treat' why not have a kerogenic meal which feels like a treat and is still on plan, sort of a compromise but regular takeaways with all the goodies are a no no x

Hi :)

I was thinking of doing the same , only was going to have Saturdays free from exante and just eat normal but low carb / high fat and take a multi vitamin .

I actually did did three low carb / high fat days days followed by TS for the remainder of the week to get me through the first week and lost 7 pounds lol .

So I am going to try the 1 day off method and see how it goes .

I think the most important thing is just avoid the carbs lol

Like above if you're going to have a treat day avoid carbs, get a mixed grill or a burger without buns or chicken salad.
If you have carbs or sugar you'll have to go through days trying to get back into ketosis with all the headaches and hunger that comes with it.

Totally agree I've only just figured that out mind . I had the advice about not staying on a vlcd keep going round my head and as a result kept ruining the diet after a week thinking coming out of ketosis is a good thing . But It just makes getting back on the diet harder and harder .

Charlie there are loads of reasons not to do that. If you only have a stone to lose, you're only going to miss 4 takeaways - what's that in the grand scheme of things? Eating tends to trigger more eating - look at what I did last week, and am now paying for it - three days in and completely starving again! I'm not chancing it this month! :)

Worked for me I only used exante two days a week sometimes 3 and I lost 7 stone 1 lb in 9 months xx

I sort of did my own thing, i was on slimming world and had joined this site so I bought a bumper pack of Exante, I really couldn't manage just packs, was really suffering and only lasted 3 days, So I went straight back onto slimming world. I lost 4lbs that week after losing 6 the week before so I thought I would do Exante packs only for 2 days a week, sometimes I did 3. My average losses where just under 3lbs a week. Its all in my slimming world book.

Week 1: Slimming world only - 6 lbs
Week 2: SW and E - 4lbs
Week 3: sw and e - 3 lbs
Week 4: sw and e: 2lbs

I lost 7 stone 1 in 41 weeks. Then I called target, but i fell off the slimming world wagon and messed about a bit with calorie counting and got down another few lbs.

I am now back up to 10 stone 2 after my holiday. The 9 months where so fast because i had so much going on and I went cold turkey on all rubbish, using my syns for food and not treats. I even went out for birthday dinner and had a jacket potato and no pudding lol i was in the zone, I miss that feeling

two weeks in a row I sts and had to add in exercise, but that wasn't untill week 22 x

That's fantastic. I'm sure you'll be back where you want to be soon. It feels like an impossible target - halving my weight - so to see big losses in others really helps me believe that it is achievable x
