Saucy Steak & Fries
This recipe is from the Slimming World Calendar on the Febuary page :)

Syns per serving: 1/2 syn on Extra Easy plan
Serves 4
Ready in about 40 minutes

Ingredients:
3 large baking potatoes, peeled & cut into thin fries
fry light
salt & pepper
4 x 9oz/255g fillet steaks, all visible fat removed
For the sauce:
4 shallots, finely diced
2 garlic cloves, finely diced
9fl oz/255ml beef stock
1 level tsp mustard powder
1 level tsp beef gravy granules
2 tbsp dried pink peppercorns
203 tbsp fat free fromage frais
garden peas & carrots to serve

Method:
Preheat your oven to 200 degrees/gas mark 6. Place the fries in a pan of boiling water & cook for 2-3 minutes. Drain & spread the fries out in a single layer on a baking tray. Spray with frylight, season & bake for 12-15 minutes or until crisp & lightly brown.
Meanwhile, spray the steaks with frylight & season. Heat a non stick pan over a high heat & cook for 2-3 minutes. on each side for a medium-rare or 3-4 minutes each side for medium-well done. Cover with foil & allow to rest for 10 minutes.
Spray a pan with frylight & fry the shallots & garlic over a high heat for 1-2 minutes. Mix the stock with the mustard powder, add to the pan & bring to the boil. Add the gravy granules & peppercorns & cook for 1-2 minutes.
Remove from the heat, season & stir in the fromage frais. Pour over the steaks & serve with the fries, garden peas & carrots.
