Wow I've skimmed this thread and it seems like some of you really got into this!!

I'm contemplating starting but I'm still a little confused about the process....what exactly will I need to start? I see the 5kg bells are on offer in argos - do i need a DVD or can I work from online first?

All this swing/windmill jargon is intimidating me....is it really that complicated??

Sweet Pink & Shazz, you seem to have been in this from the start of the thread - how have you found the results?

Kron you really are an inspiration! Great transformation, I only wish to walk around comfortably in a bikini!

I have done 30 day shred, C25k and months of other cardio work, but nothing comes close to kettlebells!!
Kettleworx's has changed my whole body shape, given me definition and lost quite a few inches. I would so recommend this program. It is expensive, but the results are so worth it :)

dvd has arrived!!!! will get it tested out this weekend and report back!

Thats the one I was looking at! I'll order it now x

Donzy it is money well spent, you will have 18 workouts to play with which you can keep doing over and over again, so you get variety, apart from amazing results :)

Alex - be careful with that foot, I knew you would want to try it when it came lol

Pretika how are you feeling.

Morning all - got my York bells from Argos (not much choice round here) but still waiting for my DVDs from Ideal World. I'll have a few swings this weekend to try and find my ideal starting weight - probably the 3kg. Looking forward to it but slightly apprehensive as I haven't worked out - well for decades!! :(

For a warm up before I touched the bells, I was thinking of dancing about the bedroom in exagerated "gay abandon" for a couple of tracks just to get the body warmed up a bit. Does this sound like a good idea or should I be doing something more specialised?

Morning All,

Just finished week 1 of the dreaded cardio and it KICKED MY BUTT!!! Can totally relate to what Pretika said now! I struggled if i'm being completely honest; wasn't able to do as many reps and also needed to stop for about half a dozen 'breaths'. Had to stop about 3/4 of the way through set 2 :(

Not going to let it put me off though, think I might have another go on Monday before I move on to week 2.

Can't say I felt like much of a 'machine' after that Mr Cheesy!

Anyways, hope all the kettle - belling is going good for everyone. And Kron, yes I did get a lovely pair of wedges on my shopping trip!

Have a fab weekend guys :)

PS. New people reading, please don't be put off by my moaning lol

Cat Lover Sue, I just read your comment after i'd typed mines and it made me LOL!!!

I'll leave it to someone with more experience to offer you advice on the warm up but here's my wee bit of advice....Remeber to close the curtains or the neighbours might think you've lost the plot with all your kettle bell dancing ;)

Thanks for making me smile and ENJOY :)

Glad to put a smile on your face Chickadee! Don't worry curtains will be firmly shut and cats and husband banished for good measure! Think I might dance round my bell and pretend its a handbag! LOL

Hi Cat lover sue - go wild on your gay abandon lol get some squats twists and stretches in as you warm up. I have copied a previous post to give you some exercises to practice - enjoy

Hi Kron - thanks so much. I'll use these until my DVDs arrive so at least I'll have done some practice. Thanks again! x

Hi Kron,

Did windmill yesterday and my arm creaked!!! every time i twisted! is this normal? (didn't hurt or anything)
:D

Donzy what part of your arm - your shoulder as you go down?

How much did everyone pay for their first dvd set/where from? I've just graduated so needless to say money is tight! But from what I see this is really working for people so I would really like to try!

How soon did people start seeing results?

And what weights did everyone start with?

I got my set from Amazon, the basic DVD's, plus some extra ones for about £50, but from everyone's testimonials I thought it was worth it..

@KRON- my Kettleworx set just arrived, OMG. Just did the first cardio one (was going to do the 'oh I'll start on monday' trick, but was like, NOPE, gotta do it now!) and I can say that as a previous gym goer, runner and aerobics class-goer, I have NEVER sweated so much in 20 minutes! It was insane, but I feel GOOD now!

And Kron, sincere thanks for introducing me to Kettleworx :)

Just_angie you can get dvds from as little as £10, and the kettlework 6 week programme can vary pending whether you get a bell with it normally a light one, so need to consider whether you want it, or need something a bit heavier
My introduction to the bells was kettleworx - it was my birthday so I treated myself :) I started noticing a difference in a couple of weeks and can honestly say that I think the bells are the best workout giving you a total body workout

Clairebear yay first one done, and cardio as well which we think is the toughest of the 3 :)

i got mine from amazon (ordered last night) £55 inc postage, thats for the 3 main dvd plus the bonus 2.

some ppl have ordered from idealworld, works out cheaper but doesnt have the extra dvds although if u wanted a 5lb KB they have the 3dvds plus the kettlebell for about £45

Re weightloss etc just ordered mine last night but have done 2 online workouts and i do ache so must be working

Donzy your shoulder joint rotates as you bend down and back up so this should ease as your joints get more used to it, if it hurts then you must stop. Try reaching your arm up - as if there is a hook just slightly out of reach that your trying to hook the handle, this may create a bit of space around the joint and reduce the creaking
My hubby gets a hip click on some moves but we just put it down to old age lol
