Slow cooker...

quorn spag bol is great
dont know how big your cooker is mine is the large oval one

this is free on green for red leave out the lentils

2 bags quorn mince
three tins of tomatoes (more expensive ones are better)
the following must be dry fried
three onions
one large box mushrooms (I use about 500g or more)
garlic cloves to taste
when dry fried put in slow cooker

dried lentils (one-two handfuls)
a couple of oxos
italian herb mix

put lentils in the bottom of the slow cooker with crumbled oxos
put in everything else then top up with water to just above ingredients
turn on and leave to cook

this is much better cooked the next day to enrich the flavours

I use this sauce for spag bol
lasagne

I also add kidney beans and chilli for guess what a chilli :)

my daughter says its nice with a tin of baked beans added to some and put in a casserole with mash on top for a sort of sheppards pie

all those ideas are free on green

it also freezes well

any casseroles work well

I cut veg into chunks and spray with fry light and roast first for a really good roasted veg casserole
again other things can be added
DH adds meat to his
we have also used quorn sausages in it to make sausage casserole

my daughter makes the most fab porridge in hers and its ready for their breakfast

Pasta, Quorn sausages, diced potato, baked beans, mixed beans, canned tomato, onion and some herbs etc. Mmm. I've bought the one-pot wonders book off SW website aswell waiting for it to arrive yay. Thanks for your suggestions!! Xx

Slow cooker adobo pork or chicken is yummy!

1 red onion, sliced
8 cloves garlic, sliced
1 pork loin roast (or chicken pieces)
1 bottle light soy sauce
1/2 cup cider or white wine vinegar

Bung it all in the slow cooker and leave it on low for 6-8 hrs. Easy peasey!

I had nothing in today so i've just thrown whatever's in the cupboard in the slow cooker today with a packet of Morrisons sausages - chopped up whatever swede and butternut squash I had left over, chopped an onion, one veg, one chick and one beef stock cube, seasonings, garlic and herbs and a tin of tomatoes and flicked it on.

Smells good so far...

Try using boned skinnless chicken thighs with leeks, carrots, garlic, thyme, lemon zest and pearl barley - free on Extra Easy and really filling.

Also I do a beef stew with chunked cassarole beef, onions, carrots, a veg + beef stock cube and lots of pepper.

Fab gadget - dont use mine enough!!

I make a leek and potato soup in mine. Gallons of it LOL

No precise measurements, I just bung it all in.

Chopped Leeks
Chopped Potatoes
(you could put any other veg in here too)
couple of pints of stock made with veggie stock cubes

switch it on and leave it to cook. It might look a bit brown once the leeks are cooked, but don't worry, they're still fine. Blitz it all up and enjoy. Cheap, easy and filling.. and free to eat too on green and EE any time you like.
