Small Dilemma...

Right, I'm starting some volunteering soon and the training starts next week, and I think there are 5 or six weeks of training once a week to go to.

Here's the thing - Lunch is provided.

Meaning sandwiches and stuff and bad things.

It's going to be hard to turn up, try to be included and meet new people and snub lunch... it's a feminist based organisation as well and I get the impression that they would really look down on a woman on such a 'drastic' diet...

Arrgh! I miht be worrying about nothing and I can just turn up with my bar and eat it and no one will make a fuss, but what if it's just too awkward to turn down the food? Maybe just try and eat a very small amount of the lowest carb thing they have?

You could have your bar before the lunch to reduce temptation later on and just drink fluids there after and if you feel awkward about telling them your are on a diet then you could say you have a bit of a dodgy tummy, which you could have if you eat carbs without refeeding.

Thanks Mini - I would use the dodgy tum excuse except it's going to be a weekly occurence for about 5 or six weeks so I could only use that once!

I just hope I'm worried about nothing and they won't care whether I eat or not!

Nah, lots of people there days have gluten intolerances and the like, if you don't want to tell them you are dieting just say that you have a really restricted diet cos you have a lot of intolerences. So many in fact that you don't want to be a total incinvenience by asking for a special wheat-free gluten-free sugar-free etc etc meal to be prepared for you so you've brought your own.

You can still socialise during the lunch breaks, you don't need to shut yourself away from the food (do you?) and be unable to mingle etc.

Yup, medical excuse is needed here. I'd lie shamelessly and tell anyone who asked I had chrone's disease or diabetes or something and make my own food arrangements.

I see your BMI is almost 25 once you reach a BMI of 25 you will have to move up a plan and start introducing a small meal along with your three daily Shakes in order not to lose lean muscle.

So this might coincide with your lunch meetings and solve your problem.

If you stick with skinless chicken/fish/cottage cheese and non starchy veggies you will still stay in ketosis and continue to lose weight.
