smoked mackearal as a hex choice

hi everyone,

few weeks ago i misplaced my little book with my healthy extra choices in it :sigh:

now i learned from here 28g of smoked mackeral is 1 syn on red day!

could a kind soul let me know if its allowed as a healthy extra on red, and if so how much?

I ate smoked mackerel recently and it has a whopping 23% fat! thats why I think. I think the smoking process must affect it, so fresh mackerel is better x


If Slimming World rates all foods on calorie density its why the smoked stuff is synned.

Smoking foods removes the moisture, thus making it more calorie dense per 100g say. Like raisins, you dont have to syn the grape but you do the raisin.

Thanks Hathor and Lexie I guess that makes sense I just knew when I was eating it that it tasted heavy in fat .... its great how I can tell that now with SW .... before I would never have noticed. Tasting that made me think about how much of it I should eat and stop eating .. I guess the process is working lol !!!!! Thanks again.
