Smoothies

soon to be skinny minnie
Hi everyone, not posted for a while. Does anyone know how i would syn a home made smoothie consisting of raspberries, strawberries fat free yoghurt and some milk??

did some investigating, (i think) fruit is syn free in its natural form but processing it etc releases its natural sugars therefore thats when you get the syns. (could be talking a loaf of prfff but thats my gist of it!) so going by a recipe on the slimmingworld website which appears closer to a smoothie -

567g/1lb 4oz strawberries
200g pot Strawberry Müllerlight Yogurt
A few drops vanilla essence
2 x 200g pots Vanilla Müllerlight Yogurt
2 tbsp artificial sweetener

1. Finely chop 198g/7oz of the strawberries, place in a bowl with the strawberry yogurt and vanilla essence and stir to combine.
2. Add the vanilla yogurt and, using a metal spoon gently ripple the vanilla yogurt through the strawberry mixture. Spoon into four individual moulds, being careful to maintain the ripple effect, and freeze until solid.
3. Dip the moulds in hot water for a few seconds, turn out onto four plates and stand at room temperature until soft enough to eat. Meanwhile, place the sweetener and most of the remaining strawberries in a food processor and blend. Serve the frozen yogurt with the strawberry puree, garnished with the remaining strawberries.
Freeze
This recipe can be frozen for up to 3 months

this is 1 1/2 syns on either plan.

so for your smoothie i would give it the same providing you use the ingredients out of your healthy extras allocation but if you dont then you need to calculate the syns for them too
