Well its only a week since Pickled-Onion-Gate lol but on Monday I was walking into work when I slipped and fell
I have loss of feeling in my left leg due to damage to my sciatic nerve which causes me numerous probs, I slipped and tried to correct by my right foot went sideways and I fell onto my knee and then side in a huge puddle
I'm at home strapped up and taking it easy, swelling is going down thankfully and can now walk gingerly. Had to cancel hair app today....disaster lol
Were hoping to still go away tomorrow evening in our caravan but were waiting to see how I am tomorrow.
I'm hoping thats it now if not I'm booking myself into a padded cell lol
Hope everyone has a great weekend :)

I can sympathise as I have a connective tissue disorder that means I am constantly spraining or straining something. The last time it happened, I sprained both of my feet! (I'm not kidding) and it felt like I was walking on two broken feet for 6 months last year. It is also delaying my starting to exercise now I have lost a bit of weight, as I am so worried about hurting myself again and having to hobble at work (which made me look like an old woman (I'm only 36 lol)). My doctor has told me I would recover quicker if I just broke the bones instead, but as I am big-boned (;) couldn't resist that one), they are too damn strong.

My advice would be, don't let it get stiff. Keep it a little mobile without bearing any weight on it!!!

So sorry about your ankle - I do hope that it gets better soon and does not stop you from getting away.
Def go with MrsMc's advice - I am just recovering from a sprained mcl (ligament in knee) and after enduring 6 weeks of no mobility, I am now having to go through physio to strengthen all of my leg muscles again.
Rest, elevate and ice, but do try to keep moving.
Lots of luck.

? mcl = medial cruciate ligament? (I ask out of curiosity as I used to be an auxiliary nurse who worked in a knee out-patients clinic in a previous life).

Yep - that's the one (I had to go home and look it up as they only told me 'mcl'!!). You must know a lot more than me about it!!

Hehehe, I only remember the name (although it was acl that I remembered, I guessed at the m). Sadly, that is the extent of my knowledge about knees I'm afraid! But, it was Southampton General I worked at (I just noticed where you are from), and that particular clinic was for a Mr Barrett who was at the time, well known for his prowess as a specialist knee surgeon. I wouldn't imagine it was still him though after all these years (I worked there in the mid 90's). Although I think the outpatients clinics are at the RSH now.

I hope you get well soon too!!
