Hi everyone. Have lost 4 stone on sw but it's going too slowly for my liking. I recently had a breathing problem and a trip to the docs this morning he said it was due to me being big and my insides being surrounded by fat and being squashed - hence why I am now doing S&S diet to get rid of this weight as soon as possible. Just drinking a chocolate shake for breakfast now and have plenty of water on tap. I'm having a chilli pack for lunch and dinner tonight will be fish and veg and a bar for after dinner. How does this sound? I'm so used to not being hungry on sw so this is going to be a right challenge!!

That sounds just about perfect! Personally I liked to space my meals around 4 hours apart so that there was always something coming later - that meant having supper before bed (eg the bar in your example). That suits some people better than others - I know some people prefer not the eat after a certain time in the evening. Experiment a little and see what works best for you. The first few days are the hardest - once past those you won't feel hungry and the weight is likely to come off quickly. Good luck!

Fab thank you for this I will have to see what suits me better I only work in an office so don't do any strenuous wok etc. I probably started this diet at the wrong time as I have a works lunch out tomorrow but I decided if I didn't start now then I never would. I've just ordered 2 weeks worth of packs so I'm ready set to get this train going! Woo woo!
Oh quick question, are we allowed peppermint tea? X

Yes peppermint tea is fine. You can have teas which are made from leaves but not those made with flowers as they can knock you out of ketosis. So no camomile or jasmine tea.

There's always a reason why it's not the right time to start. You've done exactly the right thing and jumped into it anyway. For tomorrow's lunch you can either sit with them and eat your bar (I did a lot of that on my journey!) or you could have a small protein meal - just eat the things you're allowed on plan.

Like you I did this diet for health reasons - I have type 2 diabetes and my sugar was out of control. Within a few weeks of starting the diet I was able to come off my diabetes medication and am still off it all now - 6 months after reaching goal. I started at 19 stone. My life has changed so much. I feel so healthy, love going to the gym (!!!) and have just taken up rock climbing!

The meals at this restaurant are very posh and looking ahead my work have paid for us to have a 2 course meal. I've chosen to go for starter and main. Starter of mussels and main of cod loin on spinach salad. It may be swaying from plan a little but hopefully it shouldn't cause too much damage. You are such an inspiration. How long did it take you to lose your excess weight? I luckily don't have any issues like diabetes etc but the breathing thing alone is enough to scare me into doing something about it. X

Morning Kelly

Today is my first day too! Shortly going to have my first pack of the day - toffee shake and sipping plenty of water. Choc Truffa bar for lunch, then thinking of having the Mac & cheese over cauli & broccoli for tea, then another shake this evening.

Hope your first day goes well x

Hi ya!
Good luck to you too! Fingers crossed we can get into ketosis by the weekend!
I have a work Xmas meal next week and I've already pre selected and ordered my meal. So I think I will just have to have that day as a day off and start a fresh as nothing I ordered would be even slightly compatable with this diet lol.

Hope your day goes well. I've got a bit of hunger kicking in now but I was expecting that really. H e drank 500ml of water so far so might have a coke zero to try and fill a gap.

X

I've done around a litre with a coffee & the rest water. I don't tend to have brekkie until about 930-1000 so work time shouldnt be too much of a problem. My danger time is after I get back from work & into the evening, so I need to make sure I'm kept busy busy busy!

No works meals etc until 21st for me, so I'm going to give it my best up to then x

Sounds like your choices for tomorrow are good! As for your meal next week personally I would not eat it or only eat the bits which keep me on plan. It takes you around 5 days to get into ketosis and during that time you are not in fat burning mode. So if you have only just started you will probably have a couple of days of fat burning before having a meal which would knock you out of ketosis and it'll take you another 5 days to get back in again. So in your first 2 weeks you would only have 4 days of fat burning. You need to decide whether or not the meal is worth it to you.

It took me 10 months to lose 9 stone. For the first 6 months I did 4 packs a day, no milk no veg. For the last 4 months I have 3 packs and a protein meal and upped my calories to 800 a day. I am currently 12 lbs heavier than I'd like to be and have been holding steady at that weight for quite a few months. Am looking to slowly get rid of the excess 12 lbs.

Hey Kelly-good luck with Slim &Save! I love it, and am hoping to get back on it for a bit before Christmas, and then maybe again in jan xx

Hows your first day going Kelly?

I'm back home now (danger time ) Managed 2 litres of water whilst at work, and forgot how it makes me pee like a racehorse :giggle:

Just going to have a hot water now with some water flavouring that i found knocking about in the cupboard from my CD days, while I watch 'The Chase' then i'll get on with tea.

Can report the toffee shake was nice (like melted toffee ice cream) must remember to use ice cold water next time as i think that will make it even more delish. Had the choc truffa bar at lunch time - it was ok, but I found it a little 'powdery' It wont put me off having another if i feel the urge for a real chocolate-y fix though :)

Hope your day is going well x

welll girls welcome to the sns plan i am currently on day 6 and had a sneaky peak on the scales today and was happily shocked :D i wonder if i will lose anymore before my weigh in day (thursday)

good luck on the plan i promise after 3 or 4 days it does get easier i am no longer hungry and have to be reminded to have my packs on a busy day lol

Hey girls, all the best for your first days, stick with it and you will see the results.

Hi Tanya :wavey: Hi Bananas :wavey: Hi Noodles :wavey:

Thanks for your kind words! Day 1 going well so far and just had the macaroni cheese for tea with broccoli & cauli - loved it. Feeling a little bit of a headache so just going to keep sipping the water.

So how have you all got on today?

Hi Kelly & Lil K

Good luck on your journey - there are a lot of fantastic people, information and stories on here - if you are feeling peckish i recommend a quick visit - you will easily distract yourself and get rid of any food thoughts easily enough ;)

Take Care

Hello,
Good luck with your VLCD. I did it from June - November and currently am maintaining with Dukan. Sns was the single best thing in have ever done for myself, worth every penny and every hungry moment to be slim and healthy and in control.

Be good to yourselves, give it a massive go and don't let what you want in the moment get in the way of what you really want.

Best if luck, keep us informed x
