Oat a stone so far and really enjoying SW, eating plenty (although not always my HE allowance and tend to be quite low on syns) exercising plenty and drinking lots of water (which is a big change for me) WI yesterday and I have put 2.5 on! Gutted! I ate half a pack of chocolate fingers last night and am now stressing that I will let this go being dis-heartened! I am writing this for some advice and also to give myself a shake ;-)

How do you deal with an unexpected gain? X
 
Dust yourself off and get back on track! x

Can I just say though - by not eating your Heathy extras and cutting back on syns will not make you lose weight quicker. They are as important a part of the plan as the free food and superfree food - I know, I have done it several times, ie, a week that I have missed meals and eaten hardly anything and I either put on or sts.

Make sure you eat everything on the plan and you will get a good loss next week xxx
 
I agree with stivesliz, you do need to make sure you have your healthy extras and at least 5 syns a day. When I started SW some days I was going without syns completely, and I really didn't loose much, now I've started loosing weight a lot quicker.

Everyone has an odd gain here and there, just dust yourself off and give this week your all. It will work :)
 
I've not had a gain yet (I know it will happen at some point), I had 2 great WI's followed by 0.5lb. I was disappointed, that would be the point I usually gave up. Looked back on my week and realised I had got a bit complacent. Got back on the plan properly and lost 3lb last week :)

So I reckon some times it's not a bad thing, it shakes you up and makes you go back to basics, the way it should be done :)

I've heard this said on other threads and I wonder why you loose better if you have your HE and syns? Maybe if you don't have them your body thinks it is being deprived and holds on to the fat stores? Or maybe you over eat on the free foods? It is curious :)

Not a problem I've ever faced though ha ha ha! Always eat everything I'm entitled to :)

Am not great with scientific stuff but am sure its about body going into starvation mode etc.

SW and how it works is a mystery to me too lol but it's great so I just get on with it x

My understanding is that is essentially it - we should be eating a minimum of 1200 calories a day or our body would go into starvation mode. We don't count calories on sw but sw have created the plan so that we get 1200-1600 calories a day without even thinking about it.
 
Ah thank you! I will do this! Normally I would have a week off and use that excuse to eat lots of naughty things!

I need to track! I really struggle to write down everything - I have tried to do a food diary on here but after a week I stop. Will do my best to write everything this week!

I dont try to avoid eating HEXs I just dont tend to use them so I will do that properly this week! I think part of the problem here is that I9 have cereal and milk in the morning and then am still deciding on what plan to do for the day! I think I should stick to 1 plan for the week!?
