Successful avoidance of food situation!

Hi all,
Hope you don't mind me sharing, but I am feeling quietly pleased with myself.

Had a big family party this afternoon and was determined not to break my 100% record, but also didn't want to deal with telling people, or answering questions about it.
So, since it was a buffet lunch, I had a pack just before, then when it came to the lunch, my boyf ate a first plate quickly, slipped me his dirty plate with a few bits left on it, which I furtively played with for a while, then sat with a 'used' plate on my lap for the rest of the meal.

Phew! No one noticed that I hadn't eaten a mouthful! I am so relieved and also pleased that I didn't have to miss out on seeing everyone for the sake of sticking to it 100%.
Eventually I will tell people I suppose, but for now, and in front of so many of my friends and family, I just don't want to deal with it.

So- I can reccommend the 'fake plate' tactic at such an event!

Well done on getting through the party!! Loving the fake plate tip - will have to give that one a try!!
Ooo! Good trick! I've pulled a fake hangover before which explained why I couldn't drink or eat anything. I just said I couldn't stomach it! (That wouldn't really work in a work situation!)

Cheers all! Combined with moving surreptitiously around the room, it worked a treat!
fake hangover is also a good tactic, Lucky-star, thanks! i've already pulled out 'I'm on antibiotics and therefore not drinking' in the pub, but that one won't work for long!
