I'm back after rather a long break....

My head is back on track and I'm back on the wagon. Looking forward to my first proper weigh-in tomorrow - but I know I've lost several pounds this week after yesterday's sneaky step on the scales.

I've been a carb addict for far too long .... and it snowballs. Bread - slathered in butter. Toast has to be two slices and not one. Potatoes, rice or pasta at every evening meal. It has it's payback though and recently has had me stretching multiple times a day for the gaviscon bottle.

I know from losing (and keeping off) a lot of weight previously that my body can't tolerate refined carbs well.... and once I do get them back in my system, I'm constantly starving. Then the snowball rolls.

Unfortunately, I fell off the wagon and put it all back on. Taken my time to get back with it I'm afraid. Low carb for me is the way to go and I don't want it as just a diet..... it should be a life change.

First days of carb withdrawals gave me a 3 day long migrane. Now I'm out the other side, I feel amazing

Went to the supermarket yesterday and cake out with some salad vegetables, fizzy water and loads of cherry tomatoes. Some sausages for my little boy and milk.

Walking the isles, I was GRINNING from ear to ear. My cravings for all the bad things have totally gone. I came out with a shopping basket full rather than a trolley

    Chocolate - nah
    cake - nah
    bread - nah

I've even gone from about 5 cups of coffee a day to just one over the last week. Just don't have the urge to want it and really not getting hungry.

Ditching the bulk of carbs has already made a vast impact on my life ! No bread = no butter for starters. I'm not missing them at all now. I can feel the difference from losing the first few pounds in weight and have more pounds in my pocket

Downside is that I'm cooking at least two - often three different meals. My little one eats earlier than we do ... and my husband wants carbs every evening meal whilst I'm avoiding. Small inconvenience for the massive long term gain.

I want to be at least 3st lighter by Christmas.

    Bring it on ! :)

two weeks down tomorrow. Looking forward to standing on the scales. As long as it's gone down, anything is a bonus. Been sticking with it and feeling good. Every day I've got more energy and more determination. This time next year, hopefully there will be a brand new me !

3.1/2 weeks gone, 13lb gone. Equated to 26 packs of butter or a very large baby - I'm very pleased !

    Thank you :)

I know I'm thankfully back on track and looking at it as a life change rather than a diet.

I'm now just over a stone down in 4 weeks and really pleased with that.

So busy at work that my little pot of salad at lunch time can take me about 3 hours to eat as I barely get to nibble between phone calls. By the time I've had dinner in the evening - I feel like I've been eating all day, despite the fact I've not had much at all.

My husband has not been very well, and my toddler eats earlier than I do - so currently making 3 evening meals which is a little awkward. I do Oliver's first, then my husband's and then mine (by which point I'm starving). I made some seriously tasty lamb kebabs tonight with some cucumber in yoghurt dressing and a fig drizzled with a little honey for me tonight. Previous 4 nights, its been a bowl of home made Thai style butternut squash soup which is SO filling and actually quite light in the calorie stakes. Least reheating homemade soup means I can get a quick evening meal !

Well done everyone. Some amazing losses. Stick with it. I'm already feeling better for it and looking forward to getting my life back in order x

    Well done Sarah.

Have to admit I am happier and a better loser keeping the carbs under control although I'm not fully committed to low carb eating and tend to be more of a GI/GL girl.

    Have a good week.

Well - another 4lb off, so 19lb down in I think it's 7 weeks.... I think it should be more and there is some water rentention going on as I've eaten barely anything this week and haven't lost anything. I'll probably notice a big chunk drop (hopefully) in a week or two whenever it sorts itself out

Last few weeks has been hell. My husband has been very very sick and was finally taken into hospital on Monday. We are hoping he may get home tomorrow. I've been rather poorly for the last week and eventually managed to get myself to the docs on Thursday. No wonder I was feeling so rough - had a fever of 39.5 and got pneumonia. I wouldnt believe I could let myself get sick right now.... it's been a rough time with my husband being not well, feeling dreadful and caring for a small child.

Day 3 of ab's - but tbh - I'm not yet noticing any improvement :-(

Hope you are feeling better soon. Having a stressful time compromises your immune system and looking after OH and the little one will have had an effect. Sit back and relax and don't worry about stuff like housework not getting done, it always waits for you lol

thanks. Went to the docs again today and was given an inhaler for when my chest gets bad with colds :-( I've not plucked up the courage to try it yet !

All of a sudden the water retention is dropping back quite sharply - I've dropped another 4lb in 4 days !

I'd really like to be able to shift about another 5lb by the 26th - which would make it 2st / 28lb loss in two months. I'd LOVE to be able to shift another 2st from where I am now by Christmas....

    not a happy bunny!

Still not very well - got the doctors again tomorrow. Saying that, I'm a lot better than what I have been. They think the pneumonia has caused asthma. I lost another 4lb since updating the ticker, but since then, put on another 8lb on top despite having stuck to my diet and being really good. Totally demoralising !

I'm presuming a lot of it is water retention of some kind. I'm still coughing loads and sometimes it's hard to breathe. The pneumonia seems to be gone - but the drop in clinic think I'm having asthma attacks ? I've got an inhaler - but it's only a reliever. We'll see what they say tomorrow.

Despite having put weight on (!!!!!!) I feel like I'm probably still losing it. Some areas definately do seems to be decreasing - but I WANT to be able to see the results ! Being up just over 1/2 a stone and not going anywhere is really really really annoying me
