SW Food Diary - bikini body

    I started slimming world last tuesday and have my first weigh in later today.
    I'm aiming to drop about 24lbs hopefully. But my first target is to get the 9lbs off that I put on over Christmas.

    I'm currently in the middle of moving house, and moving in with my boyfriend for the first time ever, so everything is a little different and a little stressful and a little exciting all at the same time.

    I have a wedding on the 4th April which I would like to be 10lb lighter for and then a holiday in June which I'd like to be a lot lighter for... here goes!!

    For todays menu...

    B: 35g Porridge (Healthy Extra B) Blueberries (Super Free) and sweetner
    Snack: Banana
    L: Salad (SF) Roast Chicken (FF) Fat Free Dressing (Syn: 0.5) Melon (SF)
    D: Mashed Potato (FF) Carrots (SF) Peas (FF) and Roast Chicken (FF) Gravy (Syn: ?)

    I'm new to all this so the syns I'll work out later. I will treat myself tonight as well to either a chocolate bar or some chocolate spread on toast

    Hi Hun,

    Welcome! how are you finding it so far? Are you doing Green, Red or EE?

    I think Gravy's normally about 2 Syns per serving if you're using granules.

    I'm doing EE, thought it was best not to confuse myself too much. I've done weightwatchers before but I fall of the wagon very easily with that as you have to count literally everything, so I ended up putting 10lb on in 7 weeks.

    Finding Slimming World fairly easy, it's just getting used to the Syns that is hard, and knowing which treats aren't too naughty and how to build in the syns into my meals.

    This first week I've not really used many syns, perhaps on average about 5 a day? I'm a little scared of using the full 15 up.

    Go for the middle and try 10 if 15 is too daunting, I've never done 15 as a goal, but it gives you some wiggle room for some extras on a few days if you aim for 10, then you wont feel naughty if you go a bit over. 5 may be a bit low to start, because you need something to lessen if your weight loss slows down!

    What are your normal favourite snacks? I know for me my weakness is crisps etc, but there are some low syn ones around!

    Good idea. I'll aim for 10 over this next week and see how I get along, I love toast and chocolate spread, so maybe I'll use some syns on that and I have a few sachets of flavoured cous cous and jar sauces that I might try and use up and use my syns at the same time.

    Woop -3lb cannot believe it!!!
    I was very excited. I've kitted myself out with some of the rocky road hifi light bars too and the latest magazine for a few ideas.
    Plus we had a taster night which has given me a few easy things to make that taste delicious!!!

    I definitely will do. The mushy pea curry was delish! Not something I would think of making usually. And there were some lovely potatoes, tasted a bit like salt and pepper chips.

    Start of week 2! And after doing so well last week I want to be extra good again this week.

    We were talking last night about taking the motorway or taking the country roads and I would much rather stick to the motorway. The toll road to be more precise!

    Today's food diary;
    B: bran flakes (hexb) skimmed milk (hexa) blueberries (sf)

    S: apple (sf)

    L: chicken breast (ff) lemon and coriander Cous Cous from Aldi (1.5 syns) spinach (sf) melon (sf)

    Kettlebells and metafit class.

    D: cottage pie (ff and sf)

    Done :)

    Becki - Me too!!! I stopped buying them though as when I was doing Weight watchers you had to count them, so I need to get back into the habit of putting them in my basket. :) I might make it this week. I'm going to see if I can do a few recipes this week i think. Starting with cottage pie tonight if I have time.
    My fella is in work until 8pm, so tea won't need to be ready until 8.30. So... Gym at 5.30 for an hour. Home start the cooking have a shower whilst it's doing and then he should arrive!

    If i couldnt have my tea untill 8.30 id eat my own hand!! By 6 im starved!!!

    Very true!! I didn't go over my syns either. Woop.

    Today's menu;
    Breakfast; porridge made with almond milk and blueberries
    Snack; banana
    Lunch; spinach and left over lemon couscous from Aldi. (1) And sardines in tomato sauce.
    Snack: Mini malteaster bunny (3? I think.)
    Tea; sw chips, egg, beans, low fat sausage, bacon. Sw chocolate pud (2)

    We're emptying my wardrobe tonight and dad is helping me to take it to pieces ready for the final big move a week on Saturday. So going to be a bit of a rush later but should have plenty of exercise.
