Syndrome X and Red days

    I have just realised why I lose more weight when I am having Red days! I suffer from Syndrome X
    which means I have to eat foods low in GI and I think thats why I lost so much weight on Atkins. I cant process refined carbs like pasta and white rice. I cant beleive it's taken me this long to realise why red days are better for me and why I am so hungry on Green days!

    So anyone out there who is having Green days but is feeling tired and sluggish, you could also have Syndrome X.

    The main symptoms are:-

    Apple shaped (all your fat is mainly on your tummy)
    Skin Tags
    Funny skin patch
    Fatigue
    Mental Fuzziness

    I get this! I realised when I either gained or stayed the same when I had more Green Days than Red. I still have 1-2 green days a week, but no more than that!

    and i feel crap when i have red days really run down and sick mmmm nowt as queer as folk as mi old mum would say.

    i love pasta though so i try to do mix2max cos then i can have some pasta but not too much

    very interesting... I'm going to do as many red days as possible this week to see if there's a difference... I am apple shaped...

    Another sympton I read on that link that was that the face becomes 'moon-shaped', my boyfriend is always called me moon-face!

    This is why I only do red days. I don't burn carbs off very well. it took me years to work this out, but this might be the reason I've only lost 1 pound in each of the last two weeks. I've been eating more carbs even though I've been on red days, I've been having carbs as syns, particularly Alpen lights. I've not had any this week so far, so we'll see at WI on Tuesday.

    I lost so much weight when I did low carb but its too restrictive so I find that the red days work really well for me. I have wholemeal bread as my HEX and a HIFI bar is probably the highest thing I eat, although I have noticed that I feel pretty crap after eating it. Why its taken me so long to out 2 and 2 together is beyond me!

    i had spaghetti last night and i feel soooo sluggish
    had 3 wholegrain crsipbreads @1 syn each
    with laughing cow lights
    then had huge stir fry for lunch with quorn sausages in it
    and i feel so sloooooooow

    having steak for tea lol with veg and Hexb potatoes with skins
    see if i have any energy tonight/tomorrow

    when i was very over weight i always felt tired.....and i didn't have this x thing........and my skin was crap as well.....now i have lost the weight i have loads of energy and my skin is great..but i think thats cos of all the healthy stuff i eat now........so i wouldn't take too much notice of syndrome x.............they just want ya money.....

    I had 2 sl wholemeal bread with chicken and extra light mayo for breakfast

    I had chicken new yorker for lunch

    Having keema curry for dinner.

    wow very interesting, the only thing i dont suffer from is skin tags! however i do about 90% green days. maybe should try more red

    Syndrome X is another name for a medical condition called Insulin Resistence Disease. I was actually diagnosed at the DR's. I would never buy anything for weightloss off the net! You never know what your getting!

    I done curves diet at the beginning of the year and tis low carb but not as restricted as atkins, i lost more weight on this diet but found it too expensive after a while. Its really just like doing mainly red days but alot more protein. I really enjoyed it!

    I am not very good at having my HEXB's so I do eat quite a lot of protein. The problem with Atkins is that for it to work you need to be in Ketosis, although this seems to have changed now from something I was reading the other day. Your allowed more net carbs now. The only carbs I have are my wholemeal bread and HIFI bar, which is fairly minimal in relation to a Green day!

    Glad you discovered this spaceangel. Maybe that is what is wrong with me too, i'm so lethargic, but i hate red days, though when i do a red day i feel full of energy.

    Red days can be hard, but when I'm struggling, thinking of things I can eat, I suddenly realise that there is loads you can eat on a red day, if you want any ideas, just let me know :D
