Team 14 - Scream if you wanna go faster! - Official Thread

Hi Irene. We're not really doing results anymore, just chatting.

Hi All
How are things going with you all? I have been slow stop and start again - can't seem to get back into the Cambridge zone properly and keep cheating after a few days. In saying that I am sipping my CD soup and trying to figure out how slim I can be in time for my holiday.
I need new clothes, and want to get a smaller size than I currently have and keep telling myself that losing a couple of stones (plus maybe half as a safety net) is nothing in the big scheme of things.
Last time round I lost 29lb in FIVE weeks, then a further 5lb in a week !!
Who am I trying to convince here :)
Nelli

That's the thing with CD isn't it? It's so tempting to do it again because of the big initial losses. If you can cope I'd say go for it! How long before your holiday?

Hi All, been away for a few days to our hideaway - tidying up the garden (for what it is) and replanting pots etc. The "puppy" who is massive was trying to empty them as fast as I could plant, we had a little talk about that.

Claire, I hope you are doing well on the new medication and seeing some results. I hope too that everyone else is fine. It can't be long to the weddings now - both Claire and Wannabe.

I have fourteen weeks to my holiday and I am trying CD with a vengence. Cheated a bit at the weekend, but trying to get back to 100%. I have put a couple of pounds on over the last week, and think that may be the scare I need to get back to where I want to be.

Well, better go jump in the shower - work awaiting.

Nelli

Hi Nelli. Good for you on the CD. Some days its very tempting to me!

At the moment I'm on 1200-1400 cals a day and I'm stalled. More like maintenance for me I think - even with the pills! I'm giving myself 2 months to lose 10 pounds - if that doesn't work then CD again for me.

Hi All
I am not having a good day - managing with CD - but it is killing me. As I have some arthritis I find that having lost some weight, I feel so much better than bfore, and reckon that if I get to be really slim my bones will really benefit - hence the reason I am aiming low - with an inbuilt safety net.
Tonight I am so hungry I could eat a horse (except I'm a veggie :), and I could murder the glass of wine I'd often have around this time.

It was much easier to do this when I was so much heavier but I am going to really give it a try for as long as I can, and then, maybe try one of the other CD programmes.

Nelli

So I have adjusted my ticker - consists of the balance of the weight I never lost from my September start plus the 5lb I put on almost immediately in December plus one additional stone. Maybe a bit optomistic, but what the heck :)
Feel a bit better this morning - on Day 3
Hope all is well with everyone.

Nellie

Good luck to ya Nelli. They always said the first time on CD was the charm - and that its harder after. Hopefully you're over the hump now.

Not yet Claire - tonight has been a b*tch. Even the dogs food was looking interesting (only kidding :)
Just noticed that with my new target, we've got about the same to lose - how are things going with you?

Hey I remember the first few days - I bet you are not kidding! LOL! It'll be worth it though - that first weeks loss is always fabulous.

I'm doing ok-ish. I'm on 1200 cals and hopefully I'll lose something but who knows? This thyroid thing is biting hard now but I'm hoping the medication will help. Otherwise its back on CD even if it is only 4 pounds a month!

I still see my CDC, even though I pay her nothing, for a weigh in every week so I'll know if I have lost anything tomorrow.

PS Notice the ticker - I am at exactly the same weight as I was when I posted it, but off on a new start - AGAIN.

Hey Nelli! I'm still here..as always. Still on a diet and still losing at the speed of a snail. You go with your new start girl!

Hey Claire - you really are a star the way you are keeping at it. Well done you.

I think I am a bit more motivated now (and settled with the business - at least for the moment). What is helping (???) too is the fact that the stone I put on seems more like two or three. I suddenly seem to have masses of pudgy fat around my middle and creeping onto my thighs. Feels horrible and looks even worse, and while most of my clothes still fasten, they look terrible. My waist in the past was always small for whatever size I was - not now, that is for sure.

I weighed myself this morning and already since Monday half a stone has gone but of course that is all water. Nevertheless it helps with the motivation. (I lost 13lbs in my first week last September, but aimed for 7lb or maybe 9lb this time (if I was lucky, since I weigh much less than I did then), so on target already)

How long now until your wedding? Have you got all the plans in place?

Nelli

You certainly sound motivated - which is good. I keep being tempted to go back on it but equally keep being told its not good for thyroid patients.

Wedding is in August. We've got pretty much everything ready. My dress fits so I don't need to lose anything for that. Now I've just got to work out what I'm gonna do with my hair etc!

Even though you've got a bit to go in an ideal situation, you must feel great having lost so much.
We have sneaked off early today and are heading off for the weekend.
Hope you have a good one.
Nelli

Oh I do feel so much better having lost the weight. If I was setting my own targets I'd be over the moon. Its just cos I have this other target that I can't really enjoy it. Maybe I should learn to!

Anyway have a fab weekend. x

Hi Claire

Hope all is well with you.

I was wondering what happened to the others? Looking back, quite a few came and went on this thread but Wannabeslim and Hypa, I would have thought would have kept popping in. Do you hear from them?

It's been a miserable morning in Glasgow so far, but looks like it just might brighten up. I am soooo sick of the weather. Our garden is so overgrown and such a mess from the puppy from Hell.

Nelli

Hi Nelli (Carol)

WannaB is still about on the boards somewhere. Hypa is a friensd of mine on Facebook. She's not on Cambridge anymore but she is on another diet - can't remember what - and she's still losing. If you are on Facebook pm me your name and I'll befriend you.

We've been diying all week and finally I have a free day to get into the garden. I've got a veg patch that needs serious work!
