I don't blame you - this is so hard even if there is a decent weight loss. I lost 3 stones in my twenties on a 1000 calorie diet and I think it took me about 7 or so months (if I remember right - it was a looong time ago

). I also kept control in the same way until I finally lost it and ended up on LL.
I am trying to give some serious thought to long term maintenance after I finally finish CD - and really, I don't think there is any better way than calorie counting. I used to calculate weekly rather than daily(for maintenance that was) which meant a blow out at the weekend - on even both Friday and Saturday could be "sorted" during the week.
Re-reading that, I wonder how I ever lost control because it seems so simple, doesn't it - especially when doing CD and the thought of eating a single sandwich or drinking a small glass of wine seems like a lot.
First of all, I never thought I would put weight back on after LL and of course I did. Looking back I am gobsmacked that I even put half of what I lost the second time back on - though it was so easy at the time. I wonder if some of the people doing this realise how quickly it will all pile back on if you lose control - my detailed spreadsheet tells me that between May 07 and Feb 08, (in 298 days) I put back on 42lbs. Scary
My husband is a tennis coach with a masters in health science (really - and married to me

) but very understanding and supportive, listens to me for hours on the subject of "why did I?", "how could I?" and especially "what if I do it again?".
His answer generally is along the lines of my problem being stress. His answer to how I should move forward is exercise and moderation.
He could be right - I have a friend who also runs a business (albeit totally different from mine) but we get together to talk staff problems, clients, getting new business, oh and the favourite topic - diets. Of course this is usually done over a meal and some wine.
I also have a problem with "association" i.e. our weekend place means to me - lunches out, dinner is either out, a lavishly cooked meal - as I love cooking and don't always get an opportunity - or else a takeway, and if the wine rack is not stocked at regular intervals I get nervous

. How do I break that one?
Anyway - this time time I am going to have a PLAN - so I am looking forward to hearing how your calorie counting goes. Good Luck
Nelli
PS Sorry for the rant
