Team 14 - Scream if you wanna go faster! - Official Thread

Yes, I probably should have four, but when I did CD last time, I kept forgetting the last one so figured I didn't need it.

Really odd how different each attempt (and the results) are.

Maybe you should try 4 this time. It's not going to make that much difference to your weight loss and you might be a lot warmer.

I think that is a good idea. Today I had one at 11am and just finished another and just realised I don't feel a bit hungry. Will have my bar with coffee around 6 and then another pack at 9 and see how that goes.

Hi There - hope you had a good weekend. We were down at our lodge and it was quiet - home early to get organised for work tomorrow.

Have been sticking to the four packs each day, and to be honest, I am not sure it is making much of a difference. Holding off until 6pm for my third.

Notice another pound gone for you - brill.

Why isn't it making a difference? Are you still hungry? Do you split the packs up? I do with mine so you are 'eating' every few hours.

I have never thought about splitting the packs up - so must give that a go. To make matters worse - I have only lost ONE POUND this week and that registered last Wednesday.
Not sure I am managing enough water as I read that too much of the flavouring was not good and I definately feel bloated.
Will go and see my CDC on Wednesday and talk it through with her ....meanwhile I am going to try to do some exercise as I haven't been doing any at all.
My job is very much sit down and concentrate so it doesn't help- but I am usually bushed by the time I get in at night and my good intentions go out of the window.
Anyway, onwards and upwards (or should I say downwards) - will drink more water, halve the packs and exercise (have bought a yoga CD) and hopefully have a good loss - maybe even before next Monday.
Have a good week.

Re-reading the above, I am thinking that after the initial few days on both previous diets, I didn't feel hungry at all - didn't feel cold and certainly wasn't thinking about the diet all the time, as I seem to be now.

The only real difference to then and now is the volume of water I am drinking. The job I was working on last time had me at my desk at home for weeks at a time and I was filling a 2 litre bottle several times a day - at least twice - sometimes three, - and running to the loo at frequent internvals didn't matter. I am mostly either training or working on site at someone else's desk with them and it's not quite so easy.

So - was the water filling me up and keeping my mind off hunger (as simple as that) or have I turned into a whinging ***.

Food for thought :)

Water does help fill you up for sure.

I'm up 3 pounds at the moment (TOTM) so one pound down would be heaven for me! It does fluctuate along the way. Very rarely do people lose 3 pound every week but you get there in the end.

Much better this morning with 2lb off. I am forcing the water and I think you are right about it.

Hope you are having a good week.

Nelli

Thanks - I feel a whole lot better now. One thing for sure is that I am NEVER going to get into the position of having to do this diet again :) :) :)

Believe it or not - another one gone this morning and I am being cheeky enough to hope for another three by Monday to give me 2 stones. (Working on the premise that it would be 7lb over a fortnight - so therefore not impossible, though probably unlikely).

Now drinking about 4 litres a day and it is definately helping with the hunger.

How are you doing?

That's great. Well done.

Just one for me which makes it 5 pounds in 4 weeks. I'm changing to 1000 cals. Can't be doing with it for no return. You keep going as you actually lose on it! xxx

I don't blame you - this is so hard even if there is a decent weight loss. I lost 3 stones in my twenties on a 1000 calorie diet and I think it took me about 7 or so months (if I remember right - it was a looong time ago :)). I also kept control in the same way until I finally lost it and ended up on LL.

I am trying to give some serious thought to long term maintenance after I finally finish CD - and really, I don't think there is any better way than calorie counting. I used to calculate weekly rather than daily(for maintenance that was) which meant a blow out at the weekend - on even both Friday and Saturday could be "sorted" during the week.

Re-reading that, I wonder how I ever lost control because it seems so simple, doesn't it - especially when doing CD and the thought of eating a single sandwich or drinking a small glass of wine seems like a lot.

First of all, I never thought I would put weight back on after LL and of course I did. Looking back I am gobsmacked that I even put half of what I lost the second time back on - though it was so easy at the time. I wonder if some of the people doing this realise how quickly it will all pile back on if you lose control - my detailed spreadsheet tells me that between May 07 and Feb 08, (in 298 days) I put back on 42lbs. Scary

My husband is a tennis coach with a masters in health science (really - and married to me :)) but very understanding and supportive, listens to me for hours on the subject of "why did I?", "how could I?" and especially "what if I do it again?".

His answer generally is along the lines of my problem being stress. His answer to how I should move forward is exercise and moderation.

He could be right - I have a friend who also runs a business (albeit totally different from mine) but we get together to talk staff problems, clients, getting new business, oh and the favourite topic - diets. Of course this is usually done over a meal and some wine.

I also have a problem with "association" i.e. our weekend place means to me - lunches out, dinner is either out, a lavishly cooked meal - as I love cooking and don't always get an opportunity - or else a takeway, and if the wine rack is not stocked at regular intervals I get nervous :). How do I break that one?

Anyway - this time time I am going to have a PLAN - so I am looking forward to hearing how your calorie counting goes. Good Luck

Nelli

PS Sorry for the rant

If I lost at a normal rate..or a near normal rate I could stay on it but I lost 5 pounds in the last month...and that just insulting!

So I'm trying 1000 cals, low carb for a month or so to avoid the big weight rise from carbs. So far I've lost 2 pounds already!

I went to the gym this morning and it was great as I could properly work out.

I don't think I'll stay losing this fast but it's good for me at the moment. I do think CD is a good diet but I have come to the conclusion its not for me.

But yes the big question is how to keep it off and I have been planning for that since I started. I think having plans has got to help!

I agree - I just had DINNER. Well I had half a dozen mushrooms done in the oven with some cottage cheese on the top and some chilli pepper - didn't eat them all and then rushed to the loo feeling all guilty to check ketosis. Was fine :)
That was only because my CDC mentioned eating a meal yesterday and gave her "seal of approval" I had no intention of doing it.
I also drank 2 litres of water while cooking dinner and plan another two in the next couple of hours.

2lb already - that is GREAT. Well done

Nelli

I don't really know it is strange because I've been seeing her for ages and she's never before said anything about eating except for planning on holidays.
She asked how I was doing and I said I had been finding it hard and she said that I could have half a pint of milk (new rules) She also said I should have had a meal each night on day5.
I posted that on another thread yesterday and KD replied saying that on ss+ and upwards only for the milk, and that you don't have to have a meal on week 5 but if you are going over 12 weeks you should have an 800 cal meal for a week.

How is your diet going? Are you still at the gym? I was helping in the garden today, we were cutting back trees and shrubs and I feel as if I've run a marathon :) Fat Chance of that :)
