No way!! Bubble, you rock!
It actually sounds like it wasn't really very stressful as you didn't know it was coming, hahaha! Seriously tho - you must be quite chuffed, and so you should be!

Just sat and ate all this in 5mins flat. Blooming heck am i meant to consume 190 calories just like that?

OMG aaaaand all that sugar!

I am liking that last post because it could have been a whole pack of biscuits or something far worse! It is a lot of sugar for just some fruit but just don't let it spook you into craving more! We are having a GOOD Friday, right??! xx

Hi all. Well today started lazy sat on my bum all morning. Then.... hubby had some blood tests beginning of the week. So doc calls, very urgent. Hes bordering on heart attack! Hes not been well lately suffers from high bp anyway but has been getting half face numbness and headaches. Theres was a point over christmas his whole face dropped and i did think stroke, but anyway... long story short the blood tests were all up the spout. Hes now picked up more meds and a cholestral diet sheet, they want more bloods in a week. Not giving it long to work theyve really put the $#!/$ up me!
Looking at food he eats what i eat so thats fine. We have no salt he doesnt smoke. The only thing is the biscuits, choc and crisps that he can eat without putting weight on. It just proves he may not get fat eating that but he does other damage to the arteries. So bubble feeling sad and a little scared. :(

Lunch went out the window with all the running to docs etc. I shoved a pack of mini ryvitas in my mouth tho.

Oh bubble. That sounds scary! I'm sure it will improve if he cuts out all the crisps and choc! Sometimes it takes a scare to realise the dangers of this food.
Hope the meds and a few weeks on a healthy diet he will be right as rain. Does he do much exercise?

Hes really active Becks. Thing is for an old boy - no offence to anyone - but hes a lot older than me, his fitness is great. People dont believe the age gap by looking at us. But guess he has got to realise hes in his later 50s now and he needs to look after his body. Hes never had to worry about weight which is great but think this has proved that its not about the weight or size. He also has a family history of heart and cancer his dad died at 56 and sister at 58. Although his mum is late 80s and lost her marbles it dont look like he takes after her! I cant help being worried now.

Oh Bubble... it must have been very scary BUT he is now on medication to help and it is a wake up call for him, to cut those sweet, fatty things. My hubby is exactly the same, he is underweight if anything, and never gains an ounce, so thinks he can eat cake, chocolate etc as much as he likes and has a really sweet tooth. He'd never eat anything resembing fruit or a vegetable if he lived on his own, in fact the only time he'd eat hot food would be a takeaway. Obviously you already eat healthy meals most of the time and can make sure he limits the bad stuff now and get more exercise too. In the long run, it is teaching your kids good healthy habits so that in the future they dont' go through the same ordeals we have to try and lose weight and shape up.

I doubt its that they aren't giving it long to work, they won't be expecting a huge change in that time, just keeping an eye on it to see that it is starting to help. It will take time hun but starting NOW is the important thing, don't let him put it off.
It should also help you too, don't you think? You can have less of the tempting stuff around if he isn't to be eating it, with just a few occasional treats in for the children.

Hope you aren't brooding and worrying Bubble.... share your worries here, rather than stress over it alone, or thrashing it over and over with him, as stress won't help him either. Huge hugs.... its a big demand on you too. xxx

Thanx ladies. I was strong in front of him. Hes now gone to work and ive gone into meltdown. Thinking of eating all the naughties so theres none left from tonight.
How can I cope without him? He always says law of averages he will 'pop off' b4 me but ive never really thought about it.
For goodness sake i must pull myself together its not as if hes had a heart attack! Blimey im such a worry guts. Who'd roll around the floor and playfight with my 3 munchkins? I do a lot for them but Im not the fun one!

Hey Bubble, don't go eating those naughties. If you really feel like its likely, bite bullet and put them in the washing up bowl full of soapy water quickly! They won't do YOUR health any good either and you know it. That would only make you feel worse and upset even more. Please hun, make yourself a nice cuppa or some hot chocolate and have something good to eat. Even if its something over your allowance.... like beans on toast or a nice jacket potato or something. Fill yourself up with proper food, then relax and try and think over all the little ways you can help him. He's not going to go popping his clogs now he's got medication, he'll be more aware of how he feels and keep it under control.
Aw, wish I could fly down there and give you some support! :sigh:
Do you have a friend nearby that could come round and spend the evening with you once the kids are in bed? I'm worried about YOU now! xxx
