The falling scale of motivation

    I am starting to get those familiar thoughts that I am now not too obscenely fat and maybe I can come off CD. I don't intend to, but it's always the case that motivation seems to lessen the closer I/we get to goal (not that I'm close)

    I have lost 15 pounds so far (this time) and am not feeling to unhappy with my size, but when I was gaining weight just a few weeks ago and I reached the weight I am at today, I was horrified and thought I looked horrendous. It's very strange how CD and being in control changes your perceptions.

    From experience, don't let the subsoncsious detract you from your goal, coming off CD early never works.

    Wow, might be a male thing, I originally lost 7 stone, got down to 14 and a half, then because of a quick come of no maintenance and a diet which was worse than when i started i put on a stone and a half in 6 months ( as you can see all my fault!!)

    Back on CD got back to around 15 and a half and i feel like you do, not at my ideal weight but relatively happy, if some had told me i could have a chance of being 15stone this time last year i would have jumped at the chance, but set a target of 13st!! which i do totally intend to follow through now, but yeah surprising to hear you thinking exactly what im thinking

    Don't give up. We've all done this. I got down to 4kgs off my goal, felt good and over the next couple of years let 2/3 creep back on.
    This time, I'll get to goal and make more effort in maintaining than dieting.

    Same here I got to 2 lbs of my goal, and the weight crept so slowly back on ocer 18 months I didn't notice until one day I was 20 lbs heavier :cry:
