The last of the Mohicans

Caught up on your diary and subbing :)

Can totally relate to the social life work situation - sometimes it's impossible! I'm out 6/7 nights this week. Sometimes you can be strong and discreetly sip sparking water and pretend it's gin and ignore the canapés - other times you just have to go with it.

Have to say your job does sound super glam :)

Well done on getting back to 100% TS - 3.5 ltrs of water isn't so bad, that's what I tend to manage on most days :)

Thanks Blondecat! Sometimes I need to be reminded that my job is fun most of the time... I thoroughly enjoy it, I just wish sometimes the merry-go-round would stop for a second so I could catch my breath. It's a cut-throat business because so much is at stake - that's why I choose to live in the countryside but also close to an international airport.

Thanks Sybersadie, I'm doing good - just have to think hard about why I'm doing this so as not to go rob the kids' pistachio stash! Also I have a splitting headache, which is prob a sign that I'm getting back into ketosis.

My inner "evil"voice is saying "why bother, you have a wedding to attend next week" the voice of reason is saying if you don't want to feel bloated, bad, and pass your physical... keep your a$$ nailed to your chair and finish your work!
No worries, so far the voice of reason is winning and I have a meeting scheduled at 7pm - by the time I come home, I'll just have enough brain presence to eat my last pack and crash.

I was knackered at about 9PM last night and wide awake at 2 am - I CANNOT live without good sleep!

well, the workday has ended... i am sitting comfortably eating my curry pack - couldn't do a cold shake tonight!
i think i have about 5.5l of water in me - the headache did subside. The pistachios are hidden so I'm safe. Is it just me or does vlcd make you lose weight in your brain as well?
I opened a coke zero abut 10 minutes and I've been retracing my steps - no sign of where I put it  so frustrating!

Not just you......I lost 3 pens and a cup of coffee at work today!:D

Me too I lost a Exante bar at work and no one knows I'm doing it so was frantically running around trying to find it. It was my breakfast bar, found it in my car at lunch time 1pm lol x

Wow, all the lost stuff - me too!

I picked up a pair of gloves briefly yesterday evening, put them down to put my coat on and then couldn't find the gloves

Had to pick up a different pair. Found the original ones this morning on my study desk, about five feet from where I was putting my coat on last night

Have a good day :)

I see it's not only me!

I couldn't sleep again last night so I took a sleeping tablet - BIGGEST mistake ever! I've been spending the day in a groggy state and the rain outside just makes it worse. I'm not even sure I got a good night sleep in.

Anyway, 3l down, but 2 packs eaten back to back as I was hungry... so I only have one left (booh)

I'm in bed with my stomach rumbling so hard, thank goodness I'm all alone! o_O

The wedding is next weekend which also happens to be Easter - and then the kids are off for 2 weeks from the 2nd of April- I'd love to take them somewhere for 2-3 days before it gets all mad hectic here. I just don't have any idea as to where... Maybe Barcelona could work?
I'm trying to stay on plan as much as possible, but I don't want the kids to miss out because of it either :(

Could a sleeping pill or medicine throw you out of ketosis?

I had 4ls of water, a Coke Zero for a pretend "full" feeling and a chocolate orange bar as my last product

I have read that excessive fluid consumption can knock you out of ketosis but I was always a bit sceptical about that. You are drinking an awful lot though. I've been under the care of a urology professor for 3 years and I asked him about it when a massive argument broke out once on the boards here (I hid and stayed well of of it - lol!). He said for a woman of my size on non exercise days 2l is absolutely sufficient. Double that would dilute the essential salts in my body - but he did say everyone is different, caffeine dehydrates you and that people who exercise rarely drink enough to rehydrate. Not sure if that helps - lol!

A mini break sounds fun - I'm planning same for my mum and just booked weekend away with bestie to Prague. Think I'm going to take mum to Athens but mainly because that's where there is Avios availability!! Haha

I think you're doing so well - I go to bed hungry on fast days - I don't love it obviously but the feeling when you wake up the next morning makes it worth it :)

Hi,

I really don't think you would have a problem because of a sleeping pill. I think you just need to avoid sugary medicines like cough syrup and stuff.

I think even if something like that did affect ketosis it would be so mildly you probably wouldn't even notice, not like a carb binge where it takes 3 days to get back in.

I have some days where my stomach seems to forget I am in ketosis, usually around TOM.

I hope today is less rumbly for you.

Thanks everyone for the good advice.

Blondcat - even when not dieting I usually drink about 3l a day - I remember my grandmother always making a fuss about it when i was a teen, she would always take me to see her rounds of specialist - she was convinced I had undetected diabetes
I have regular check ups and I do tell them that I drink a lot of water, they don't seem to worry as everything comes back normal, the salts etc, just the potassium is low

I am 6 ft and I drink an obscene amount of coffee as well
The upside though (always have to find something positive :D) is that I have flawless skin - not bragging, but I never had acne and I have virtually no wrinkles - which considering the insane life I lead, including the sun and the travelling is miraculous.

With regards to the trip with your mom, Athens is such a great idea - especially at this time of the year

Beccubug - oh I forgot the pesky TOM - you're right... I've been having cravings as well so I'll take that into account.

I don't think 4lts is excessive if you take account of the coffee and coke zero. Both have caffeine so will dehydrate you.

TOTM def has an effect, especially with cravings.

I had a read through at my schedule in my diary last week, and I cannot believe I survived so many talks/negotiations!
But more importantly for the sake of the entry is that I forgot that the first thing I did every morning (after my mails of course) was to go down to the gym and hit the treadmill for a 45mn run! I spaced that out completely, I think that may also be why I didn't gain as much!
It's my habit when I'm not doing a vlcd and I admit I've done it for so long now it didn't even register
So now I have my answer because I was truly puzzled, I mean truly - could VLCD affect my memory so much? or was it just the fatigue? so many things were happening

Anyway, happy I may have found the reason - and it furthers my resolve to "borrow" my husband's PT when I come back from the wedding :D
I have to say that I don't feel as dizzy on Exante as I did on CWP and I do feel less famished as well, so aerobic exercise could just be feasible ?!? I'm not talking a 9minute mile sprint, but maybe more like a 12m mile? This suddenly has gotten me very excited!

Oh and by the way, tried the chocolate shake for breakfast :spit: No no no!!
It tastes nothing like chocolate! I was so disappointed I threw it away - I've got 3 more so any advice on how to make it taste better would be appreciated or they will have to find another home!

2.5l of water so far and 3 large coffees
Curry for lunch :D - puts a smile on my face
I have the day off today, so I have to be super careful not to be "on the prowl" for snacks etc

I'm trying to find a hotel in Barcelona which is central enough to walk everywhere - unfortunately the city is so big and my youngest will probably complain if we cover too much ground on foot. So now comes the compromise between what we want to see so that I may triangulate and find a hotel from there - got sucked up in the internet vacuum

Hiya,
Just had a quick read through your diary and it looks like your doing well. Your ticker suggest so. I'm starting exante and I'm a bit scared to drop to 600cals per day but feel prepared. Hope to follow you on here. x
