Hi guys,
Started at slimming world nearly 4 weeks ago. Had previously tried about three years ago and lost nearly a stone and a half (when I was slimmer too) but didn't keep it up and soon put all of the weight back on plus a considerable amount more. Have given weight watchers a try in that time but have found that was definitely not for me.
When I joined slimming world a month ago I was the heaviest id ever been at 15 stone. I'm only 22, and although I don't necessarily look 15 stone as such, I do look pretty damn heavy. I'd started to shy away from getting my photo taken out of embarrassment (very unlike me) and was feeling more and more down in the dumps about my weight, something my boyfriend in particular had picked up on.
Deciding I had to do something, I bit the bullet and joined up to class in a local community centre. The group I attend is tiny, only about 8 of us stay for class but they are lovely. At the moment we don't have a permanent consultant so we are getting different people in until a new consultant completes her training and starts early September.
In my first week I lost 6 and a half pounds which I was exceptionally pleased about, so close to my half a stone. Second week I lost 2 pounds bringing my total loss to 8 and a half pounds and getting my half a stone award. Love the feeling you get when this is presented to you in class. Last week however (weighed on Monday 29th July) was a very naughty week. Had lots of events which had been arranged for months and champagne flowed so put on an unfortunate 3 and a half pounds. Was a bit gutting but I don't regret it for one minute. If I had waited to join after that week I would never have lost the five pounds I'd still lost. Plus this was the first time I'd joined a slimming club and attended my weigh in when I knew I had a big gain. It shows a change in my attitude and Iv really got stuck back into plan this week.
Anyway I'm feeling really good about it this time. My mam is also doing slimming world and attends the same class (we live together) so cooking is a lot easier and I have someone to bounce off.
I get weighed on a Monday so only a few days to go and Iv got a drinking BBQ tomorrow. Think I'm going to steer clear of the food there, take my own salad and drink vodka with diet fanta to keep syns down. Pacing myself is definitely something I'm going to have to get used to
Looking forward to sharing my story with you all
