Welcome to the club Gemma. I know exactly how you feel It is not 'helped' by people telling you constantly how great you look either, strangely enough lol! It is like your poor brain is deluged with mixed messages.............need to diet, you look OK in the mirror, need to lose more weight, hey you're looking good, need to get to goal or I'll put it back on again, eat, diet, have a little, don't eat. It is a 'mare! Why do you think my last stone has taken so long to come off? In 1 or 2lbs, with weeks of plateaus? I am about three months behind target in reaching my goal weight (my target was based upon losing 3lbs a week).
All I can say on the positive side is that so long as you are buying CD and trying to lose weight, you don't put it on! No matter how many naughty little tastes of things that have passed my lips, while on CD, I have never put on.
So where does that get us Gem? We can keep going like this and we will get to goal very slowly, and it will be s-l-o-w-l-y and it will cost us much more financially. OR we can have a good talking to ourselves, finish the job as we started and get on with a proper maintenance plan.
That's why I have been coming on here lots and reading the main CD thread for posts from people starting out. I am trying to get back to basics and speed my journey to goal. I know we can do this Gemma, and we will!
You'll laugh, but today I have not had my green and white meal. I am actually trying to see if I can get to Wednesday WI Sole Sourcing, to help undo the numerous tastings I have had earlier this week. And it is so HARD, but I want to do it to see what it is like. If I become a CDC I think I need to do SS first, and why not now when I am finding that last push so hard and slow.
We just never thought when we started out that we would have this problem -- that looking good can make it so hard to diet lol!
What about reinventing the CD 100% Club. Or even just giving yourself a star on your signature for every day that you SS 100%? Sometimes visualising it can help, and little things like that break down the week into 'bite-sized' chunks?
