Things that have annoyed me about dieting so far

1) I haven't told anyone (except the whole of the internet, obviously) that I am on a diet. However, my mum has told her sister, cousin and two best friends plus all of her elderly residents that I am on a diet and hubby has told all his workmates including his boss, his mum and THE MAN THAT RUNS THE CORNER SHOP. Why would you do that? It is not their business to tell! I am right cross about it. And when I had proper cross words with them about it this weekend they looked at each other in bemusement and said they didn't know what my problem with it is.

2) My aunt, who my mum told, and who is about a size four said to me "oh don't go losing too much will you?" She is the skinniest person I know! She has no idea what it is like to be fat! I am sure she likes to have fat people around to make her feel better about herself. I love her and usually like her a lot - but this one thing about her really annoys me.

3) I am obsessed with the scales. But I do not want to get rid of them.

Aw hun, I understand you are feeling peed off. You boyfriend and Mum have no rights to tell anyone about your private business. That is very unfair ((Hugs))

Personally, I have found it easier to tell everyone 'I'm on a diet, keep food and drink away from me' lol

For me having extra support has helped. But I can understand other people's reasons for not wanting everyone to know. It is quite a private thing, especially if you are sensitive about being overweight.

Good on you for telling them though - hopefully now they will see you're not happy about it and stop telling people on your behalf!
