Time to get serious!

Hi Ria (and martha),

My name's Candice. Ria - I've spent the last few hours reading your entire diary. It is so incredibly motivational. I wish I had found it earlier.
I started CWP (with my then bf) in may 2011. I lost nearly a stone then went on holiday. When I got back I yo-yo'd on and off cambridge for years basically - psychologically I was never quite ready. My poor cambridge consultant is a star - she never gave up. The bf and I got married last july and I weighed 13st (a lot for being 5'0"). So back in April I was up at 14st 12lbs and something clicked mentally and did the plan solidly for a month with the hubby. I lost a stone and a bit and was down to 13st 11lbs. Then we went to a formal dinner (had to go) on the 4th of may and it was downhill from there. I am going on holiday in 5 weeks(and seeing family that I haven't seen since my wedding) so am determined to see this through yet again. Anyway so today is day 3 again and I weighed myself to see where I stand and I'm at 14st basically. I had a really hard day and was on the way to mcdonald's when i decided i just didn't want to be a fatty anymore and turned the car around and drove home. I came on the forums and saw one of your posts Ria and saw the link to your diary and started reading it. Best thing ever. I checked my ketostix and i'm in a solid good ketosis. I feel really re-motivated !! so thanks!!!

And so many things that you've said I;m totally like, omg me too! and i loove clothes. ive just never been able to wear what i want. i buy clothes cos they don't make me look too fat instead of ones that i really want to get and im sooo sick of it.

oh and I have a question actually about how you make your mousse -- how much water and mix a mousse do you use and how long do u leave it in the fridge for. Just cos whenever I try to make it it comes out very thick and not that appetizing.

how's the stuff with your consultant application coming on?? i think you'd be a great consultant!!

Hi Candice!

Welcome to the world of my musings, moans and general babble!!

I'm really glad you're in the zone, before I started I was pretty worked up and excited, it really helped keep me focused, so try to stay in that mindset for as long as you can!

mix-a-mousse - tricky stuff, I still can't get it the same every time and I am convinced the results vary depending on what flavour you have too! I actually use the recommended 150ml and 10mins in the fridge, I like it fairly firm since I really hate the times i've ended up with a blancmange sort of substance (bleeuugghh!) but I do however beat it within an inch of it life with the hand mixer and a balloon whisk attachment on full power for at least a minute...maybe thats the trick. But I certainly find strawberry makes a better texture mousse to chocolate for example.

Still not started me forms, I don't know where the weeks have gone :-( seeing my man twice over bank holiday weekend and have 3 job applications to do...so actually that's technically 4, I do need to get cracking! everything feels so hectic, I really hope if i do get on this holiday that I will be able to relax!

Anyway, lovely to meet you Candice! please stick around and keep in touch!

xx

It looks really nice :)

I have a sw soup book and the lentil in there is amazing!!

Can't wait to try it because I'm on step 2 from the 3rd of June for a week! I plan to try that and the cottage cheese lol oh and ur egg and asparagus idea!!

Good you have meals for the 3 more days especially when u cba cooking! :)

The weekend will be good for you. Yes a nice lunch with rana sounds good. I've seen a few people eat in nandos ( if you like that) on step 2 most have chicken and salad or Mediterranean salad and that works for them.

Ah I'm ok been revising most of the day! Really tired today don't know why.

So glad to know that this time tomorrow I will be free and have nothing to worry about except gutting the house out and sorting stuff for the holiday and of course getting rid of that stuff I want to eBay.

I ordered a dress yesterday for my sisters birthday 22nd June. I know this look isn't for everyone but I liked it :)

Also had great news today that the skin care range I looove is now being sold in boots in Belfast. Liz Earle have you tried their stuff?

It's the small things but I'm excited lol

Also found before pics that I had taken waaay at the start before Cambridge and omg! I had no idea I was soo big. Actually annoyed that I was soo unaware!

It's funny you said that, since I was kinda thinking nando's - I'm not the biggest fan bit it's practical, and the spice factor should hopefully keep Rana happy!

soup was so fab! but I am stuffed, I think its one that is much better had for lunch since I hate going to bed on a full stomach, it doesn't seem right!

I'm tired too, not sleeping well, think with everything going on, and the cruise thing stressing me isn't helping. Pulled myself out of bed an hour after my alarm this morning, it's lucky i factor in a buffer!!

Freeeeedddooom! sounds amazing, I just love it when you can have the opportunity to do all the things you usually put off!

I like the dress! do you find youre taste is changing? I did, big style!

yeah I have tried it, it's from the isle of wight isn't it, they sell it in john lewis so tried it once after seeing it on QVC actually (i'm so cool) was nice, loved the smell of the toner.

don't you love looking at old pics though! see, I knew I was big, but was in denial, always thought I wasn't that bad, only now do i see it!

Nandos it is then! :)

Yea that full feeling is horrific!!

Lunch sounds like a plan! :)

I know what you mean with the sleep thing I'm such an awful sleeper and I think of all the stuff that I really shouldn't worry about.

Hopefully you get some good rest soon. It's important to look after yourself huni

Oh freedom is looming and I just cannot wait! No studying for 4 whole months excites me!! Lol

I don't find my style has changed so much bit more that I have confidence to buy stuff I avoided because of my size. It's nice to be able to be adventurous :)

Lmao qvc you are so funny! I remember my mum glued to that when I was a kid! But it's good you made the discovery! I love the smell of it all I want to buy the whole range for my skin type. Maybe after holiday lol it seems selfish to splurge before hand!

I do love looking at the pics and makes me determined not to go bk there. But I feel kind of embarrassed that I didn't realise how bad I got and thinking of how people must have looked at me. Cringeworthy for sure!!!

Geee, I am so bad at being awake this week! Fell asleep after about 5 mins of reading, Light on, phone not on charge! Can't wait for a lie in Sunday!!!

See what I love about Qvc is they give you all the info and demonstrations, then pretty much every brand they sell, they also sell in John Lewis, so I make my choices on Qvc, then go and buy with my staff discount! Winner!

Yeah actually I think you're right on the style/confidence thing. My style actually changed about 2 years ago after a year in my job. I had spent 7 years wearing uniforms to work then school Before that so it took me a year of Working in an office so get away from my own black trousers + top uniform and put a dress on for the first time. Now most of my wardrobe is dresses which is crazy since I once didn't feel right wearing a dress unless it was a special occasion at one point. So glad I ditched that, and the jeans+ t-shuttuniform of casual! Yeah, I do still wear ts but it's nice to have variety too!

TFI is all I can say now! Hope your exam goes ok today, then we can get cracking with the weekend!! Wooooop!

My scales have literally not budged an oz for days so screw it, I'm step two all the way! Making sure I eat those extra calories even though I don't really want them just to see what happens!

So, just had a whopping 250g of fat free yogurt mixed with a chocolate shake, I am so ridiculously full now! It was nice but. Really struggled to finish it.... It's much easier to down 450ml of milk!

Will me more of the soup for lunch then a bar prob for the afternoon and shake for dinner.

Aggghhh so full!! Step 3 will be a nightmare!!

Being awake sucks lol I could sleep for a week haha :)

Oh discount always helps of course!!

The dresses suit you and I'm sure u feel more confident being able to wear what you like instead of what you feel you ought to wear.

Praise jebus it's Friday indeed! Thank you hopefully it's the quickest 2 hours of my life lol

Step 2 sounds good to me! Ur well on ur way!

Glad the yoghurt was nice. Makes all the diff. May next time you could split it in half so you have smaller amounts 2 times in the day?

Step 3 has a lot of choices but of course you won't be moving up until you feel ready. Ul adapt :)

Hope you have a lovely day and il check it this evening after the dreaded exam xxxx

Yeah and the joy of dresses is you only have to choose one thing instead of two! minimal effort!

Ohhh, you'll be in your exam in a minute....sending good vibes....

Hmmm, maybe i could, but saying that it certainly set me up for the day!

Just had lunch, and I'm oh so full again! the thought of having 2 more products still is a bit daunting!!

But so much food!! I guess that must be why we do it in stages I guess!

I was totally freaking out earlier, how is it that I can be living on so little calories and the scales hardly moving, its crazy, it makes me ponder that if I am maintaing on about 600cals how will that ever be possible on 1500!! hoping it's just a temporary glitch - water retention from exercise maybe, hopefully...

Is it just me or do you get a ridiculously large amount of quorn 275g what the hell!! Thats looooads

I'm totally freaking out hahah

Ria you are so cute! I defo felt ur positive vibes :)

The bloody questions weren't as obvious as they shoulda been but sure! I did what I could

You are so incredibly strong for resisting that!

Continental market at our city hall today and smelt soo good but I steered clear lol

How's ur day been my love? :)

Haha have you ever tried eating 250g of yogurt?!

Oh god I can imagine. I was actually fairly mad earlier thinking 'imagine encouraging us to eat that much' but ive calmed now haha. I got some quorn chicken pieces for tomorrow but will definitely be splitting it between lunch and tea. Im too full this evening. Im totally missing milk on step 3, step 2 you can have 3/4 pint of milk but step 3 is only 1/2 a pint. Have definitely been going over... but hey I love a cappuccino. If you like coffee have you tried the douwe egberts hazelnut coffee! A wee cappuccino made from that is actually like heaven in a cup. Oh im drooling at the thought :) x

Well, just made an egg curry for Rana, you fry the eggs in a paste and I had the oil a bit hot the first egg was a bit brown, thought it was bunt, sniffed it - smelt a bit burnt, had my foot on the bin pedal next minute I was triple checking if it was burnt by biting into it, then, foot still on the bin pedal swiftly devoured it, I've never eaten an egg so quick in my life! Oops! I know eggs are ok but I deep fried egg! Doh! Never mind... So yeah, it wasn't burnt!

Made sure I put enough chilli in it that one taste hurt so I didn't go back!

Oh I'm so gonna feel like that too!!

Yeah I noticed the random amount variations on milk, I'm not too fussed about it so luckily I won't have to worry too much!

Interesting, my mum mentioned a caramel version of that earlier. Hazelnut though.... The one thing I won't touch!!

my scales are STILL static! that's 5 days they've not moved!! grrrr!!!

Tucking into yogurt mixed with strawberry shake for breakfast though and YUM!! could make a habit of this!!

Wish my bloody scales would do something though!! Even when I had a weekend off and stuffed myself with cookies I lost half lb!! - makes it all the more tempting to have Monday off!!

I know it's a naughty thing to say but sometimes if weight loss stalls it is good to have a day off and shock it back into action. Your so good at making sure your straight back on it the next day so why not? Might be something to think about.

Ive been thinking about yogurt ever since you mentioned it last night... I might pop and get some for my museli this morning... would mean sacrifice of hot drinks though. And I am working later hmmm a shift without tea? Could be a nightmare haha x

You need to put the scales away!!!

Did you my diary where he had hidden the scales? Lol in the bloody car!!!

Sounds good maybe that's an option for you have other flavours and see how that works out.

Can't believe I'm going to say this but maybe lyn is right. Take Monday off if ur confident enough to get straight back on it Tuesday morning.

Maybe it will give u that boost you need x
