im having burgers for dinner tonight and thought i would do some chips.

has anyone got any great free or low syn ideas on great crispy chips?

You need to do the good old SW chips hun!
Cut your spuds into chips, parboil for about 5-10 mins. Drain and let them dry. Rough them up in the pan and then spread on a baking tray. Spray with frylight, I also add salt and pepper and then cook on high (I use 220 deg) turning often until crispy.
I love SW chips!

mine never turn out nice at all theyare always weird lol i prefer to make wedges caue for some unknow reason they turn out right lol

i think the par boiling bit is essential - have the oven really high i find they crisp up better. If you can afford the syns use a flavoured olive oil - i love chilli oil on mine!!! delish!!! x

oh and i also add my HEA of grated cheese to mine and bacon/mushrooms as well - to make a chippy melt fest!!! *drool*

I just cut my potatoe, no peeling into big wedges, put in microwave for 4/5 mins. Dry them, put on a tray, spray fry light on them. Little bit of garlic pepper and pop into a warm oven for around 20 mins. LOVE them, so much better than chippy chips.
