Trigger weeks question and also my first meal out in RTM

Hi guys! I've been missing in action because I've been so busy, but have been logging on and reading, and really pleased there are so many new people on RTM! (Good luck to you all and enjoy!)

Just a question for you old hands. I am on week 8 trigger week, and my week starts Friday am. I've didn't have any of the trigger foods on Friday, but went out for a meal last night and had some potato. I made the decision to choose as wisely as I could, but to enjoy a few glasses of wine and not to be too strict. I chose butternut squash and potato cakes with green salad and a sweet chilli dip. I think that the starter might have been fried though. For main I had lamb shank with root vegetables. I ate the managetout and carrot and had two small boiled potatoes and let my friend help herself to the rest. She then chose homemade profiteroles with toffee and cointreau sauce, and I had a black coffee. I did try a little spoonful of the profiteroles, but to be honest they weren't all that so I didn't bother with any more of it. We shared a bottle of dry white wine, which we sipped from 8pm right through to 11pm - I would normally have got through two bottles pre LL days! We then went on to the pub and I had another large glass. I did have all sorts of psychological issues going on in my head, and know I'm only on week 8, but I tried to stick to the plan as much as possible without feeling deprived as I have to be able to socialise I think without worrying about what I'm consuming. I've got right back to the plan today, whereas normally it would have been bacon butties etc!

So, my question, sorry! On trigger weeks, did you eat the trigger food each day? I'm feeling like I don't want to eat pasta or rice to be honest, and could survive without them, but what happens when I get to next week and I've still not eaten much of them? Really I'm sticking more or less to week 7 and happy to do so. How important is it to eat the trigger food at your one meal a day? What is the definition of the trigger food, ie, what I mean is what am I looking out for? Is it me overeating, or putting on weight or what? I may do that this week anyway due to the meal out?

Next week on week 9 there's nothing that I want to add, apart from perhaps bulgar wheat, so do I need to strictly do this?

Hi PS. I believe you should follow the rules/instructions. That is why they are there ;)

Have the trigger foor 6 days, not on the 7th day. This is the only realy way to see how your body reacts to various foods. Its best you learn now, rather then later.

You don;t need to have it at each meal, but do have some each day.

THats my advise. Everyone is different though. :)

Ooh, BL I love your red outfit! Stunning.

Point taken re the rule and I'm nothing if not a rule follower! That's what got me through 21 weeks of Foundation and I'm not going to stop now!

In fact, I had already decided to just to the one meal a day as required and have some of the trigger food. So, I just had 2oz of cous cous (which was a huge amount actually, much to my surprise!) made up with boiled water with a teaspoon of curry powder, which I threw into the pan of tofu fried in soy sauce, along with cherry tomatoes, diced onion and sweetcorn and a sprinkling of garlic granules and served it with a side of rocket - IT WAS DELISH!!

So, I'm going to have and enjoy my trigger foods and just see what happens.
