good luck sweetie i would agree with the others and push for some more tests from drs

Thanks guys,

Had a really good positive start to the day until my OH whisked me off on a surprise trip to Whitby and took me to the Magpie Cafe which I LOVE and never get to go to! Instead of my usual Haddock & Salmon Gratin with Breadcrumbs, Thermidor Sauce (Cream, Whitewine, cheese?! etc) chips, alcohol and pudding I had 1kg Fresh Mussels with a small white wine and cream sauce with Onions and a bread roll, fresh leaf tea and homemade chips and tartare sauce! Well chuffed at myself! And also no indigestion!!!!!!!!!!! Just lots of onion burps on the way home as I know they affect me hahaha!

Good day all around- plenty of water and sea air- however not good in the Syns department I believe!

My Dr has been dreadful, when I went to see her on thursday she was blatantly full of cold and couldnt be bothered. She gave me omeprazole and tutted when I mentioned private allergy screening. When I asked her whether she thought it was a good idea she said she didnt think my problem was food related?!?!?! and I should wait for my patch tests for non-food based items as it will probably be sorted then!!! Bit confused to say the least!

I hear what you're saying! I think when I am on SW I have far more dairy than normal, especially now I am breastfeeding as I have lots of healthy extras. All that happens to me is I get the odd stomach cramp and get a bit windy, but my daughter's colic started when I started slimming world, and definitely got better when I cut out dairy and moved to soya milk etc. She also has reflux which seems to respond well when I cut out dairy.

I think usually when I'm on SW I tend to use my Hexs on milk and cheese and also eat more of things like yogurt and quark etc than I normally would.

Oh, and I also find that when I eat certain veg such as broccoli and cabbage my daughter also is more unsettled as I guess it's making her gassy too!

Oh and I forgot to mention that I really suffered badly with acid reflux in pregnancy and it was always worse when I had something milky like porridge for breakfast. x

Muller lights have gelatien in, so if you are fine with dairy but not so much with muller lights it could be that?

Thanks for your help!!!!! Have cut muller lights out completely now and will try soya/rice etc!
I have less dairy on SW im a cheese fiend and gave it up when I started so havent had any for a few weeks so im dead proud! Ive had reflux for a long time but it didnt necessarily come to me the ordinary way- I know its coming because I get really bad catarrh in my throat and then around an hr later it feels like acid is bubbling at the back of my throat- its just startin now coz of the onions from earlier!!!!!

Through what I hav read from you RoxieP im going to cut dairy and gelatine out. I had terrible collic and reflux as a baby which is interesting! My mum never fed me much cheese or dairy due to her ibs and severe cheese allergy but my dad and i love the stuff although it makes him ill too!

Hi Trefoil - I can't help you with any food related suggestions as I've no experience but after reading your posts my first thought was "if my GP had an attitude like your's has, then I'd be switching to one that shows some interest in their patients' problems!!"

I'm quite lucky cos there are 6 GP's at the practice I am registered with and they all specialise in different fields so if we go to one with a problem, quite often they will recommend seeing one of the others that has more expertise in that field.

If I were you I'd ask around your friends, work colleagues etc about their GP's and think about registering with another practice if you don't have access to any GP other than the one you've been seeing.

Thoughts are now in another thread trefoils problems with sw and afterwards :)
