does anyone know how they can check for heart conditions using an ecg? i mean what if i dont get any palps when they do this? its only clipped on you for 12 seconds?

and the blood tests what can they find out?

I am sure you will be fine x x I have had "palps" as I affectionately call them...for the past ten years. My heart beat doesn't go rapid, it goes irregular...and feels all weird. At first I was frightened but after getting the all clear from my doc (blood tests & ECG).."probably stress" he said... I felt a bit better.
When I get palps now I sit and read palp forums on the internet and surprisingly palpatations are very common...people use loads of different ways to get rid of their palps or learn to live with them when they have an attack.
What works for me is a lay down with a Paul Mckenna relaxation CD...or a hot bath.

Good luck @ the docs

coffee does it for me. Too much caffiene. Ate a packet of chocolate covered coffee beans from whittards once. Thought i was dying half an hour later! I can't do fresh coffe too often for the same reason.

They might even send you for a 24hour ecg recording (mine did), you go home with a small little box attached to you. then one will usually show up. next day you go back to have it taken off.
