do these actually work

Just standing on them doesn't no. But I've seen people in the gym do kettle bells, press ups, squats etc on them and I've read this is the only effective way to use them.

I desperately want to start using them as they are in my gym and so don't cost any extra but I'm too embarrassed as it attracts attention from people like me, bored on the treadmill or whatever and like to watch people do strange things on strange machines!
 
Can i recommend you go for it:). I was very skeptical but gave it a try - really helped with wobbly bits. I particularly wanted help on core as cant lie on my back at all due to bad sciatica. Got more compliments after two weeks 15 mins 3 times a week than my lost weight lol:D
