Vic Vodkas dieting rollercoaster - back to it!!!!

I only looked into the original Atkins way back when everyone was having overladen plates of fry ups! Now I know the NEW Atkins has amended all sorts of things to make them healthier...
 
I found with WW that I could eat almost point free and then use my points for cr*p so that wasn't healthy... or exercise more and use my points on cr*p (which is also what I see a lot of WW people doing...). Maybe that works for some people.

With SW being the exact opposite to Dukan, I'd not fancy moving from one to the other, but I've done it before (jacket potatoes and baked beans for lunch, yum!)...

Like Atkins and Dukan, they keep changing the rules. I'm sure it's to improve the diet... (or is it to sell the new books? cynical me?????)

Anyway all diets work...

All we have to do is stick to them!

no i agree with you jo. (she says eating a curly wurly) sw i couldnt get away with at all. WW are bringing a new diet out this week i believe

see food... or sea food...

I think the old original '72 Atkins was the heavy fat one!

mmm... grapefruit, steak, eggs...

<then, after about a week, supplemented with full size eat quickly straight from the wrapper, get caught by Dad doing same, Swiss rolls>
 
I lost 5 stones with SW about three years ago and then it just kind of stopped and I got disheartened. I am a bit of a pig so I worry I wouldn't be able to control myself on Atkins - at least with Dr Doo Doo I am kind of going without so much that i am almost better off not having them at all than being having to measure and limit what I have. Basiclly I am a lazy greedy cow :)

Definately once you find what suits stick with it 100% its the finding what suits thats hard! I was lucky with Atkins, it fitted me but its not for everyone. x

Cos stabilising the loss after Dukan or Atkins ain't easy! I've lost it several times before with Dukan but, because of my behavioural issues, can't stabilise it.

Surely for any diet to work, one has to lose the weight AND stabilise it off... without TOO much effort.

Or am I aiming too high?

Just yesterday, I was saying to Vicky off thread that I think I'm pretty resigned now to using Dukan to get to a weight I can accept myself at, and then continuing the 80/20 to stabilise cos Conso never worked for me...

open the door ajar and I'll force it WIDE OPEN...

Totally agree with you Jo, having maintained after my first loss with dukan.... the 80/20 kept me at my lowest (roughly speaking) while out of ketosis....I'm treating my Dukan journey as triphasic...
 
At least with 80/20, us errr "fillers" can be errr "filled" once a week at least!
(How eloquent am I?!)

And as a serial dieter, I'm perfectly happy dieting most of the time!

Vicky - when you post your Atkins menu, is it difficult for you to post the carb grammes and quantities too (ie copy from Fitness Pal here?). I'd be really curious to learn more about carb grammes, but know I'm too lazy to go onto FP to find it regularly!
 
no i can do that if you remind me. didnt know whether to post my food on here though cos of people getting confused?
