ok so week 6 weigh in today, and although ive "felt" lighter i did feel id put up weight!!

so got up on the scales and im UP 1lb!!

now i have mixed emotions about this. i was expecting to put up cause this is week 5 im on 1000 cals and have to start balancing out soon!!

    BUT

then all the doubts come in, what am i doing "wrong", what am i not doing right!! so although i know i only went over cals on sat night and did reduce the next couple of days, i do know im NOT eating anything i shouldnt be. i just have to accept that my body needs to readjust to calories, and this is obviously the start of it.

i will however start 100% daily keeping a tab on cals (was letting it drift into the night before i did it) and will also cut back down on the fizzy drinks(since starting college mon, i can feel myself slowly slipping back down that route).

upping the water again to 2.5litres as that too is starting to dwindle!! xxx

As you say, it'll all a learning curve and balancing act for the body once you start getting f**d back into your system, so don't fret about a pound, that could be anything, some leftover food in your stomach, a bit of fizzy pop not yet 'passed through', heck at 1lb it could just be you haven't "been" yet!

Well done on getting to week 6 of RTM catz, and for recognising your old fizzy drink habit early on and doing something about it :)

hope you are enjoying the new slim and sexy you! ;) :)

Hi Cat! Its a shock the first gain. And it DOES play with your head. I panicked - having been 100% I was used to losing week on week, so I did not like that either. Didn;t matter how much I KNEW in advance, I was going to HAVE to accept a few pounds coming on in RTM.

BUt don't worry. It is all part of the plan. You are doing great, and to warn you - the trigger weeks can be a shock! I put on 8 pounds the week we introduced bread!!!! Talk about a shock! SO I just left bread out the next 2 weeks, and lost the 8 plus 2. I now know, bread will be a few and far between treat. Thats the point of RTM - you can pinpoint foods that react negatively and be aware.

Now at the end of RTM< or actually 2-3 weeks after the completion, I am a pound below what I started RTM at. So it all comes out in the wash.

You are doing it right. :)

    BUT

im continuing to up my cals by the 100, and only eating foods allowed so well see how it works out!! thaning god though all my clothes arent feeling the little gain thank god lol!!

Oh hon, I know!!! And I wish I could fast forward you to the end so you know it will turn out alright. BUt I went thru it too!!

I really started to doubt myself - panicked I was doing it all wrong - assumed I was going to revert right back to old habits and I was in a right worried state! It IS horrible - and it WILL pass.....

I do think however, it is a GOOD thing that it is making you a little uncomfortable too. Otherwise one could easily fall back into the habits of unconsciousness, ya know? So while it is making you a bit nuts, it is also keeping you very aware.

That is what I found. For me it WAS my wakeup call. I realised, I REALLY needed to pay attention, learn what was balanced, learn what foods wer good choices, all sorts. I really felt in the dark.

But, alas - its light again. We do make it out the other side. And peice by peice the puzzle fills in.

Now, it seems to have just sort of fallen into place. I am not hyper-focusing like I got to the point of, but I am fully aware and weighing pros and cons of my choices. Before putting something in my mouth, I recall what has already gone in. Not only today, but the day or two before too. And that really is helping me.

Hold on tight hon. And just to prepare you - it may go a bit squiffy for you over the following few weeks - it does get more challenging and particularly the trigger weeks. BUT - if you do as your meant which you have been doing in an exemplory way (aside from the booze! :whoopass: :D) You will be alright.

I spiked 8 pounds in one week - bread trigger week. But, by the time I finished, that was gone and then some and I completed RTM and came out the same weight I started it as.

So everything will be alright. Try not to let it make you crazy - but use it to fuel you to do better and better every day. :)

    xx
