weight loss

hey guys,

ive done sw about 5 times in the past and it has always worked for me however the last time i done it i was bloated, i was losing weight but i felt fatter..strange i know so i changed to atkins and loved it but wasnt doing the toliet (sorry if TMI) lol. So i am back at slimming world coz i really do like this plan but ive decided to cut back on having so many high carb things and it seems to have worked so far. First week i lost 7 pound second week i lost 3.5 so very happy with that :D however the reason im making a seperate thread is ive been reading loads of weight in threads for all diets and most of the time the same thing is said other than weight is how are people losing this amount of weight and they arent and probably thinking they arent doing well enough and that kinda upsets me because i used to think like that. But i now think of it this way...if someone has 100 pound to lose and you have 20 pound to lose that person is DEFO going to lose more than you. even if you were eating and excersizing the same amount. Its based on previous eating habits and excersize and how large or small you are. guess what im trying to say is if someone whos 300 pound loses 5 pound per week and you at for eg are 180 pound lose 0.5 pound per week then dont get dishearted and think your doing something wrong because you have lost meaning its positive. so chin up.

strange first post in sw i know but if you have a loss regardless how big or small it may be and what others around you are then give yourself a pat on the back. :D

Nice post, and it makes sense.

People who are heavier than others, eating the same and exercising the same will lose more because their basal metabolic rate will be higher, i.e. the number of calories per day required just to function. They will typically burn off more calories doing every day tasks, even sleeping, than much lighter people.

Of course, this doesn't account for those lucky folks those with very high metabolisms to start with!!

Hello MrsS.

When you last did SW, did you do lots of Green and EE days? I do find they make me feel bloated. So have been doing mostly red this week and much better, losses too. Sometimes we need to change what we eat to make us achieve in any eating plan.. but all losses as you said are good. xx

yes those lucky people with a high metabolism! suppose its the same thing tho, you should base your weight loss on you and not what other people around you coz we are all different. Oh and men seem to lose it faster as well last time i went to sw with my OH we both lost 7 pound the first week he then lost 6 the week after and i only lost 2 even tho we were eating the same things infact i was eating slightly less than him and it made me so upset that i went and binged.. that just put me right back to the beginning.

yeh the first couple times i done sw i always done Green so i was eating loads of potatos and pasta and i got a good loss first couple weeks but after it slowed right now and i was bloated so im now doing Red more as i feel lighter! and some days ill do EE took me a while to get my head around EE tho that you could eat both and still lose weight lol but yeh as you said once youve got to a certain point you need to shake it up a little.
