My son swallowed a mouthful of flash at my friends house ended up in a & e he's was ok. But then he came home was running in the garden fell over cut his head & arm.

My H & I then had a row as he blamed me & said I can't even look after my own son.

I've just had enough can't cope with it x

When my son was little he was into everything and at times I felt I needed eyes on the back of my head just to keep up with him.

Everyone is probably now feeling tired, upset and stressed out which would only be natural after having such a day.

Your husband most lightly is just letting off steam and has directed his emotions at you without thinking...when everything calms down he will see reason an know that these accidents happen and are all part and parcel of childhood, every family have their own stories to tell about their children or when they were young themselves.

No matter what you do kids will always find a way to get in to trouble. My 2 are always getting into trouble the eldest zip strapped his brother to the bed the other day and I couldn't find scissors to cut him loose.
Your son is fine and your doing a grand job don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

OMG, hes actually kicked you out for that? What the hell is up with him? My daughter bounces off EVERYTHING. She is a walking bruise, which has no fear of danger. I shudder when I put her in a skirt or a dress for school because she is permanently covered in them from bouncing off the furniture.

(((hugs Big Bear))) hope he calms down and sees reason soon!

OMG its not your fault kids are into everything.
My oldest was a nightmare always in a and e he fell out of his buggy, swallowed 5p, fell into the fish tank and smashed his tooth through his lip, broke his leg and disappeard under the table at my cousins house at xmas with a chicken drumstick and got bit by the dog because he was offering it to him and then pulling it away. it all happens so quickly and you aren't to blame hun.
Hope you make your hubby suffer and feel guilty men are so thoughtless sometimes :)

:hug99: Hey huni

(((hugs))) sorry to hear your having a bad day huni, your OH (who im sure is usually lovely) is being a complete knob! I think you've done the right thing by staying at a friends, no only avoiding a row but it will also show him that he has really upset and hopefully it will give him enough time to think up a genuine heartfelt appology for tomorrow.

As everyone has said kids will be kids!! Hope your sons not too bruised! xxxx

Big Bear, I could add to the previous lists of kids mishaps that my son had when he was tiny, including splitting his head open in the Hospitals A&E whilst waiting to have the stitches out from a previous accident, I could but won't because deep down you know that there is no blame attached to you and so does you OH.

He is, unfairly letting of steam because of his own concern and unfortunately you are in the direct line of fire.

I am glad he has apologised because he should and over again.

Personally I would have a quiet, calm talk with him about his behavior towards you and tell him it is not acceptable and you don't expect it to happen again. It can be done without anymore bad feeling or unpleasantness.

He is probably feeling a real heel now he has calmed down and got over the shock of what happened.

Big, big hugs to you, no one said being a mum would be easy but there are times when you wish you could wave a magic wand to make it so.

xxxxxx

Came home last nite 2 a screaming crying son as he'd be looking 4 me so settled him. H is still being an idiot we've not spoken unless its relating 2 our son. He just wants to carry on as if he said nothing so until he apologises properly I'm not interested.

I've let him look after ds today 2 so he can actually c how it is...of course he can't & rang his bloody mother who as u no I've issues with.

We'll c wot happens but at the mo don't even want to look at him.

Oh poor you Big Bear. I tripped on the 2nd stair down and my 16 day old daughter shot out of my hands and landed at the bottom!!! I had been at the hospital 5 hours, and it was only when they kept us in for observation with fractured skull that I dare phone my OH. The worst of that was being grilled and accused by professionals! Two consultants were convinced I had done something on purpose. One actually said to me, very sarcastically, that my survival instinct was obviously stronger than my maternal instinct. It is horrible to be accused of being anything less than a model mother. Especially by loved ones!!! Chin up though. you know the truth. And so do we!

I think it's the right thing to do. I know its hard to carry these things on but if you act like he never said it he will think he can say things like that and get away with it.

Bless your son, my little brother gets himself in a right state when he cant find me. At least you know that knows its not your fault and you obviously mean so much to him.

I hope you OH can swallow his pride and apologise to you properly!! He must realise how hard it is as if it was easy he wouldnt have passed him to your MIL to look after!!
