usually everyone brings in a piece of fruit and slimmer of the week wins the fruit bowl. we have so many people at our group that not everyone stays and its usually somone who goes who wins so it gets raffled off, ive won it one in a raffle and it was great :D

We have the same, bowl of fruit/veg. I think SOW is open to those members who regularly stay to the meetings, least it always seems to be those that stay, that win. If you see what I mean!! Plus you have to have lost 2 weeks on the run, so those who are having their first WI don't automaticaly win it with their potentially big loss.

plus a certificate for being SOW and a fridge magnet

We don't get a certificate or fridge magnet. We get a sticker and the bowl of fruit but you can only be in the running for it if you stay to the meeting

Most members take a piece of fruit, tin of toms, free yoghurts etc and all goes into a bowl.
Those who stay and have 2 weight losses are eligible and the SW consultant chooses the winner, sometimes it is shared. If there isn't much in the bowl our SWC puts in some Hi-Fi bars or a 'mini book'
We also have the odd raffle.

Hi
You could take a piece of fruit to see if they do it at you class?
Our SWC mentioned it to us at the 'newbie' talk.

Theres a consultant but shes not a proper one at least thats what i got told. We are hopefully gettoing one in 3 weeks! But When i went there i was shown where to sit and i sat and i sat and i sat for 45 mins until all the weigh ins and the meetings had finished thinking this was the norm until someone started putting the scales away and i got up and said can i get weighed as i am new. got given the book told roughly what happens on the diet and then asked if i wanted to do it and apologies for no consultant and htat was that!

I was SOW on my second weigh in last week, got a few pieces of fruit and a pack of Hi Fi bars and a certificate and a magnet and a sticker. You should have seen my face, like a kid at Christmas! :D

FNM I'd consider a polite but pressing email to someone about the way you were treated. I don't think it's fair to expect people to pay for the meetings if there is no meeting! I'm a bit of skin flint and have chosen a meeting each week where I can turn up at the start and stay the whole way through so I feel like I'm getting my money's worth ;) For the money you really deserve someone qualified and a group that can really motivate you!
