I'm a definate Apple shape and find it so difficult to choose the right clothes (mainly tops) too suit this shape!
Especially when I'm over weight as most long line tops over accenuate the huge stomach! Short tops rise up higher than they should!

Cant win really hence why i need to get on with losing my excess weight!

I'm an apple. Big boobs, love handles, jelly belly. I have trouble finding jeans. It's all low-rise these days and they just look horrendous. Where do other apple shapes get their jeans from?

I get most my jeans from Next they seem great - I def know what you mean about lowrise one's looking awful or it can go the other way and they fall down all the time!!

Other jeans I find ok are some of New Looks plus they are cheaper than Next!

im a complete apple too, i find river islands jeans are ok, if u get the bootcut medium rise kind. got a lovely pair out of there at xmas time, have nearly wore them every day since!
i used to get mine out of new look but they fall down the whole time, and they became very worn between the thighs due to rubbing!
as for tops, ive started going for long sleeve thin cardigans and wear them with lots of thin layers, say a vest top, then a long sleeve v-neck top and then a long cardigan over that. v-neck plus the button detail brings eyes down the middle rather than wandering around the sides of big love handles! well thats my reasoning anyway!

I'm def apple shape - Ive got a pair of low rise and I spend all day in them breathing in - ridiculous!!! I have a small waist but big belly so clothes often look odd on me, they gape at the waist but are tight on the belly and hips - I assume getting to goal weight will help solve this particular problem!

Never tried River Island jeans to be honest thought most of them were low rise...will have to seek out medium rise....good idea bout thin long line cardi and layered tops too! I have to wear V Neck because of the huge boobs...lol

The things us girls have to endure !

I am a juicy pear! I gain weight on my hips, thighs and bum first. Lovely eh? It's quite annoying because I am 12-14 on top and 16-18 on the bottom - WHY GOD, WHY???

Also find Next good for jeans, I find all trousers tricky because I have a small waist and really large, wide hips (which means when I put on weight I get a large wobbly flat bum. attractive). I tend to wear longer tops and bootcut / flared jeans to try and balance out arse-zilla!

I shop a lot in Long Tall Sally too as am 5'10'' - they have a good range of sizes in there with decent leg lengths.

:)

Not sure this is an exclusive female problem either.

I struggle to get into 32" jeans as my thighs are big. Also my work shirts are all 16.5" necks which are all too big for me elsewhere and have long arms.

manny could u not buy more casual shirts with a smaller neck and then leave first two buttons open, so at least rest of shirt would fit well? dont leave too many open or u risk lookin like a gangster pimp, with the big gold medallion etc!

The thing with my shirts for work is that I have to wear a tie so I need to have a shirt that i can fasten, its fine for casual shirts

liking that arse-zilla image! very funny :)

Im an hour glass shape, i carry most of my weight on my legs/arms but i have mahooosive boobs for my tiny waist which means anything that fits on the boobs usualy is too baggy rounds the waist making me look alot fatter than i really am. I try to wear very tight waisted tops, like wrap tops. Otherwise it has to be tight stretchy ones that only make my boobs look even bigger and shows of my stomach! NOT GOOD!

ok manny, i give up, ur in a pickle! only thing to do is find a good seamstress and have some darts of material taken out of the sides of the shirt to leave them more fitted.
katie, DVF dresses were made for girls like you! plenty of copies around tho if u cant afford the real DVF's, which to be fair, very few of us can! empire line tops should sit well on you tho katie?

Hi Delli,

I have found that if I buy slim fit shirts then they generally fit better, however they are much dearer than a regular shirt

I am kinda straight up and down, boyish I think. NO boobs at all, and no real waist. My shoulders are very broad, so altho I am a 10 in jeans, I can sometimes need a 12 in tops and dresses. My calves are huge, nearly the same width as my thighs :-O not sure if this is from all the spin classes, or just my strange shape!!! So I can't get into skinny jeans!!!
