What to expect?

Hi everyone

I haven't been diagnosed with PCOS but I have been referred to a gynaecologist and hormone specialist by my GP as she suspects that I do have PCOS. I feel like I've been at my GP more times these past few months than in my entire life! Anyway, I was just wondering what to expect? How will they diagnose me? I don't have an appointment yet and I'm not sure how long I'll be waiting for one either - does anyone have an idea of how long the wait is? I had a look on the NHS website and other ones, but they don't have a lot of information available about it.

At present my symptoms aren't extreme, I have slight facial hair on my top lip, under my belly button and lots of random hairs on my face that I pluck as they grow back in.. I have the spots/acne, but only around my jawline/on my inner thighs (is that common in PCOS or is that just me?), and irregular periods which I've got used to as they've never been regular since they started. The worst symptom I have is the anxiety and depression. I know it might not be PCOS, but if it is, is it likely to get worse?

Hope someone can help! Thanks x
