What would you expect to lose on the man plan?

Hello everyone,

I'm considering a switch from just the packs to include a 200 calorie meal all the time and not just on the food week.... if I stuck to ketosis recipes what would you think it would do to the weight loss?

I was thinking that a mans metabolic rate is higher anyway (sorry ladies) so assumed that's why the man plan was created and rates would be similar?

A man's metabolic rate is higher because (usually ;)) he has more muscle mass. In order not to lose lean muscle mass instead of fat when VLCD-ing you need to keep protein requirements high. And there's not enough protein in 3 packs to sustain a man's muscle mass. That's why. :) But actually, women would lose on the Man plan too - it's 800 calories a day, after all.

Give it a go, but remember to keep it low carb - meat/poultry and green veg. The rate of loss should be identical - the only danger is the temptation to set slightly more than you should, so make sure you stick to the calorie allowance. :)
