What's on the menu today?

Often red colouring comes from cochineal... which is derived from an insect, if you can believe that!

Oh yes, I definitely can. I was studying the ingredients on some of our yogurt-coated fruit and nuts at work the other day, and was curious to know what 'shellac' is. Looked it up online and it's derived from insect larvae! Ewwww.

It really p..... me off. Why do so many non-animal foods have to contain bits of DEATH? Seriously. :rolleyes:
 
Hi, here is todays menu for me...

Original

Breakfast - 2 x Weetabix (Hex B) with Milk (Hex a)

Lunch - Homemade soup (recipe from soup thread - it is yummy) with a small wholemeal roll (Hex B) and Mackeral

Dinner - Prawn salad with LF thousand island dressing and Laughing Cow EL triangle (Hex A)

Snacks - Banana, pineapple, strawberries, muller light
Syns - Thousand Island Dressing (1), Hifi Bar (5.5)
Drinks - Tea (with Hex A allowance), NAS Robinsons orange
 
Red Day

B: 1 slice of thick toast (HEX B), scrambled egg, marmite

L: chicken kebab with salad, skinny latte (HEX A)

s: apple & banana

D: Lime & pepper haddock fillets, asparagus with a little marg (0.5 syns), green beans, maybe some cajun new potatoes (HEX B)

After dinner treats: Mandarin panacotta (1.5 syns), 3 Babybel Light (HEX A), small bag of sweet popcorn (3 syns), 1 mini creme egg (2.5 syns)
