When hunger strikes late at night!

I've always questioned whether it makes you gain weight if you eat just before bed, and then I stumbled across this nice quote...

'Eat breakfast like a king, eat lunch like a prince and eat dinner like a pauper'

Seemed quite fitting, and so from now on I'm going to try and not eat after 8:30pm :)

I've heard that quote before. Great, isn't it? And yet, we Brits seem to eat the other way around!

From what I understand, strictly speaking, eating late at night doesn't make you put on more weight. Your body will ingest exactly the same amount of calories from a sandwich, whether you eat it in the afternoon or at night. However, eating earlier in the day gives you more opportunity to burn off the calories consumed before you go to bed.
