When people start to notice!

I have managed to so far lose 15.5 lbs over 14 weeks on SW and over the last couple of weeks have really started to notice the difference in my clothes. Many of my size 16 trousers are now way too big and can’t even be ‘modified’ with a safety pin at the waist as they still look awful. I kept a ton of my old size 14 smart work clothes in bags under the spare bed, just in case I needed them in the near future and I have just started to manage to fit back into some of them.

Anyway, I rock into work this morning in a pair of black narrow-pinstriped trousers (not worn for over a year) and black plunging v neck wrap front top, with a turquoise vest top underneath, feeling pretty darned good about myself. Walked out into the main office (I share a separate office with my boss) and got hollered at by one of the other girls. So I amble over and the first thing I get is “Bloody heck girl, you’re looking great, how much have you lost now?’. Cue head and grin growing!! So, as we’re discussing how I’ve got on, what it’s like, etc, some of the others in the office (there are around 60 people in there) start listening in, and I even had some of the guys telling me that they’d noticed I’d lost tons of weight but that they hadn’t liked to say anything in case I took it the wrong way, etc. Then had a couple of other people tell me at lunchtime how they could really see how much weight I had lost.

Got weigh in this evening and not sure if I’ll have lost anything (I was down on my scales this morning but have filled myself with water throughout the day so may not have ‘processed’ it all by the time weigh in arrives) but even if I don’t, I really don’t mind today... I feel like I could take on the world! Though, being 1.5 lbs down and getting my 10% would be nice! Don’t want much me eh?!

The only down side of it all is that I know one day over the next couple of weeks I am going to have to go through the heartbreak of charity-shopping a pile of clothes that I absolutely adore L Am trying to hold off so much from going and spending money on new clothes as I don’t intend staying a size 14 for long either if I can help it... so my casual scruff-about at home clothes are just going to have to do for a while longer – I’m sure I can get away with a safety pin tuck in the waists of my joggers – after all, only my OH sees me like that!

Sorry for the rambles, just felt like sharing my Cheshire-cat-ness with you all!

Ahh its an amazing feeling when people say that to you isn't it!
Was thinking, you should sell your old stuff on ebay and use the money to buy the next size down :) xx

That's not a bad idea, although I'm not sure I could be bothered with having to trek to the post office all the time! It'll probably all get packed up and taken for my mum to sell at car boot sales, as she does quite a few of them for charity.

Am contemplating sticking money away for each lb I lose going forward... maybe £5 per lb... towards my new wardrobe!

Well done on your weight loss! I always give my old clothes away to the local hospice shop. Figure they really need the money more than I do as they do such a fantastic job.
