I can't thank everyone enough, I'm so moved by the replies.

Mini, you are absolutely right - this forum supports everyone who is trying to lose weight in such a wonderful way. I trust people here and I know they want the best for each-other (and for me).

I am so grateful for the hard work people do in running MiniMins and for the love that I find here. xx

You'll show them. Not far to go to target now - and when you get there you'll go to class for free, while they'll still be paying. So it'll cost them more money too ha ha

Scarlet Daisy you are doing so well, don't let this other lady get you down. I've been going to SW for over a year now and at one stage managed to get my Club 10 but have managed to put a lot of weight back on again - mostly due to my own greed! There is another lady in my class similar to yourself in that she has lost nearly 4 stone over a similar period of time and I'm in awe of her achievement as I know she's worked really hard to get there. I would never denigrate her weight loss as this lady has done to you. I am constantly supportive and ask for tips on how she's doing it (basically, following the plan lol). Our consultant is always praising her and if anyone said anything nasty about it, she would be shut up very quickly. Have a word with your consultant about how upset you were and maybe she'll say something at the next meeting.

I'm going back to class again on Monday and this time I WILL do it.

Thanks for your shining example.:)

I think your weight loss is very inspirational - she sounds jealous as she isnt doing as well, taking her disappointment out on you!
Keep up the great work - i only hope i can do as well as you have done! Xxx elle

Well some people are just plain mean, but I shall waste no more breath on that green eyed monster.

However lets crunch some numbers, you started your diet according to your infoy bit on 6th April that is 30 weeks ago. You have lost 57 pounds during that time. Taken from sw website "A steady weight loss of 1 to 2lbs per week is recommended in government health guidelines, which is a realistic, achievable goal for the majority of people." Now let's see if you lost weight too quickly:

57/30 = 1.9 average pounds per week, hah! so in your face mean sw classmate!

You have followed the diet correctly and have done a brilliant job, you really are a complete inspiration to the rest of us so well done! :party0011:

What a jealous spiteful cow that woman is! You don't lose 4 stone through luck! It's hard work and application! Congratulations Huney we're SO pleased for you and remember when you get to target (and you will!) you can say that you lost weight because you stuck to the plan!
I'm so sorry that your husband has MH issues, it's very difficult for YOU to cope with and that you are managing to stick to the plan is a HUGE achievement.

Now, I have a similar story to this from my class last night!

Last week, a lady came to class as a visitor, with her (adult) son. He's a member of our class and she's a member in London, where she lives. She has lost 4 stone in around 6 months and has only had one gain in that time. At our WI, she lost 6lbs and got to her target! We were all thrilled for her, and she looks fabulous - and not too skinny either. Just a healthy 12.

So last night, a few people were talking about her and saying how 'unhealthy' it was losing that much weight, and even her son said he thought she'd done it too fast and gone too far etc. He said she was obsessed with it (er, hello, who isn't?! You have to be to do it 100% I think!) and it wasn't good.
I felt SO bad for her because clearly she'd just tried really hard and was utterly determined to get to goal. So I worked out her weight loss average and it was 2lbs a week. Now, 2lbs a week is a great rate and to me, quite fast...but actually it's steady, reasonable and totally healthy. When I told this to the class they were all a bit like...er...ok, that's not that bad and is achieveable!

I was annoyed that they were so quick to jump on the 'slating her' bandwagon - because yes, 4 stone in that time does sound like it's fast. But breaking it down into something reasonable proves it's not - it's OK!!!

Many thanks for that! I think you just won the argument for me. ;)

What I don't get about these people is the way that they feel that they have the right to say these things!

Even if I thought that someone had lost weight too fast, or that what they were doing was not advisable for some reason, I wouldn't say so. Not unless someone had specifically asked for my advice.

It's perfectly possible to have an unexpressed thought - some people ought to consider the possibility that not all their opinions are worth expressing!!!!

I think people like you are inspirational. There's a girl in my class who got her 3st award last night, and I was so happy for her. She's been going the same amount of time I have, er, seen my losses anyone.... Anyway, point is, it's people like you and her that keep me going. I've thought of both of you today when a packet of crisps were begging me to put them out of their misery and scoff them. I know that O could have been at target months ago. And I also believe inspirational people like you 2 are what keep me plugging on.

I can only echo what everyone else has said here.
The woman is clearly jealous, and I admire you for holding your tongue. I would have been tempted to say something really cutting, and probably hurtful, and then regret it later!
As others have said, I advise you to have a word with your C. This woman should not be allowed to upset anyone like that.
You have done so well, so please don't let her, or anyone put you off.
So sorry about your OH. It always is tough losing a loved one, and everyone deals with it differently. Sadly, some find it really hard to accept the loss. He has your support, and I hope his dark cloud soon has a silver lining.
((hugs)) to you and your OH and just carry on, you will be at target in no time!
