Which potatoes are best for SW chips?!

I bought Maris Pipers yesterday because they had best for mashing/chipping on them, ive just peeled them for our chips for tonight but I wasnt impressed with the size of them? They all seemed a bit small and round, ideal for tomorrow for our roasties but not so good for chips

What potatoes do you use so you get a longer more chip looking 'chip' - does that make sense haha

I tend to use either sweet potatoes or the red skinned varieties but I dont mind small chips
