Well in a bid to stop my distructive behaviour the hubby has been given a job today while I'm at work ...... Hide the damn weighing scales ......with the help of them I have slowly been destroying my diet ..... Oooo I'm lighter than I thought "let's have cake then" not good

Good work Catherine - I'm tempted to do the same. I'm not too bad usually but I go through phases of being a bit obsessive. Plus my scales are very different to the scales at SW, about 2.5lb lighter! So I always feel a tiny bit of disappointment when I WI at SW! When I first began losing weight in April I decided I wouldn't even think about numbers but how I felt and what I looked like. That lasted about 3 weeks!!!

I've got my inspection today, eek! And giving blood this evening so am going to pile up the 'free' carbs today to make sure I don't faint (like my husband did last time we went!!!!). Hopfully it won't make too much of a difference on monday. We'll see!

Hope the weather isn't dampening anyone's spirits!

1.5lbs loss for me this week. I'm happy with that as i was off plan over the weekend.
 
Well another 3 pounds for me this week - I am ecstatic & have given myself a huge pat on the back. Don't get me wrong my weight loss is not usually like this - I'm normally up & down & half hearted but thanks to this forum I can see how motivated you all are & this has truly inspired me. I have done Slimming World for years - sometimes very successfully & reaching target so I know that the eating works - buts its getting me to actually put my heart & soul into it & this time I really want to lose weight. So onwards & downwards hopefully.

Hi everyone is it ok for me to join too.
This is my first time at Slimming World I was previously at WW where I lost 2 1/2 stone but I've become very complacent and 1/2 stone has crept back on and boy have I noticed, I tried to get back into but I was bored of it so when I found a friend was doing really well on SW I thought I'd give it a go, so I joined last Sat and it will be my first WI this Sat, I'd like to lose 7lb by my last WI before Xmas which will take me back into the 8's.
Just a little worried that I might not be doing SW properly.

I'm just thinking I'm doing it all wrong.
i really need to get a decent shop in really I like a few bits of fruit but not really had any, the main thing is the 1/3 rule I'm not a massive veg fan so I only ever eat a bit of salad, carrots and mushrooms really, is it absolutely necessary to do the 1/3 rule?
 
Are you doing EE? As it is on that plan. The whole point of it is to help fill you up on veggies/salad, naturally limiting your calorie intake. There's a very good pic circulating on here to show why SF is so important, I'll see if I can find it.
 
Thanks Jezzi yes I'm on EE, just been to the shop for some apples and mixed veg, spag Bol for tea so will have a side of veg too. Does the 1/3 rule also count for brekki and lunch?

I'm a veg monster .... The trick is how you cook it in my opinnion cos I hate veg just boiled oven roast peppers onion courgette garlic with balsamic and frylite are a fave or steamed broccoli pan fried with garlic and frylite or serve a tasty chicken breast with veg curry so many options just remember there's a lot more to veg

Thanks ladies

Well I had slimming world spag Bol with cauli, green beans, carrots and peas defo had at least 1/3 of a plate of that even tho I don't like cauli it tasted really good with the bolognese, hopefully that will stop me sniffing around the kids cereal tonight.
 
curried cauliflower soup is awesome ..... just changing how things are cooked makes a big diff glad you enjoyed the veg packed spag bol :)
