WHY are they called boneless kippers......

when they are FULL of bones!?!Just cooked a delish lunch of kippers with a jacket and a plate full of salad and FF free dressing.It took me an hour to eat it as I sit picking the bones out
What does anyone else do?do you eat them(can you?)?Quite gutted really because they were yummy but so much hassle!!

I hate that! I really love kippers but I can't stand picking the bones out, and I can't eat them, although I enjoy the taste, I find that I cringe with every mouthful, as I'm expecting to get a bone!

Same here! Although I guess a plus point is that you eat slower..I was full half way through I chewed each mouthful so many times

If they not the big jaggy bones I just eat them. Too much hassle to pick them out to be honest.

Me too ... the thing I dont like is that wee fin they leave on in the middle .. yeuch but other than that love kippers too
