Wolf's SW Journey to lose 8 stone (2st gone)

hi,

your posts are inspiring, you are so good with your food, im a snack monster and developed a terrible habit of biting into something ( biscuit) and putting it back thinking it dont count!
i hope tomorrow is as kind to me as your weeks have been, your such an inspiration

Well done so far Lisa. You're doing great.

Don't feel bad if you have a bad day, or even a bad week. Just learn and move on.

Looking forward to reading about your future successes x x

I've decided that I want to try and get my 1.5 stone award before Christmas. Or at least I'm going to aim for that.

Here's todays' meals:

Breakfast:
Smoothie - Banana, cocoa (1 syn) and almond milk (HeA)

Lunch:
Fruit salad

Dinner:
Homemade beefburger on wholemeal roll (HeB) with spicy wedges, yogurt dip and salad (2 syns for marg, 1 syn for chilli sauce)

Spent all day yesterday Christmas shopping with my daughter. Watched her buy loads of tubs of Pringles and other snacks and DIDN'T BUY ANYTHING FOR MYSELF! I did briefly look at a box of chocs, thinking I could get it and save it for Christmas day, but then I told myself off, knowing that if it's in the house it will get eaten immediately. So I didn't get it. Quite proud of myself lol.

Here's today's food:

Breakfast:
Fruit salad

Lunch:
Smoked salmon with Philadelphia cheese (HeE) on a brown roll (HeB)

Dinner:
Slow-cooked chicken and bacon casserole with lots of veg and new potatoes (1 syn for cornflour)

Snacks:
Fruit, herbal tea with honey (2 syns)

Thanks Mini, it just wasn't worth feeling guilty all week and then miserable on weighing day! :)

Here's today's menu:

Breakfast:
Banana, cocoa (1 syn) and almond milk (HeA) smoothie

Lunch:
Sliced hard boiled egg on a brown roll (HeB) with cress and other salady bits (2 syns for margarine)

Dinner:
Chicken curry and rice

Snacks:
Fruit, herbal tea with honey (2 syns)

3lbs down this week.

Totally unexpected as I've had a couple of bad days (food is EVERYWHERE at the moment!) but I tried to balance it out on the other days and I guess that worked. I just need to keep it up for the next week and then I can enjoy Christmas weekend and get back on it after Boxing Day.

Breakfast:
Banana, oats (half HeB), hazelnuts (half HeB), cocoa (1 syn) and almond milk (HeA) smoothie

Lunch:
Fruit salad

Dinner:
Duck roast at daughters house

Snacks:
Fruit, herbal tea with honey (2 syns)

I'm a bit worried about dinner but I shall try to stick to a few slices of lean meat and some veggies. I don't like Yorkshire puddings so that's probably good.

Hiya! Just read through your diary so wanted to say hi! You're doing so well, you must be really pleased!

Just spotted something in your first post...

End of May 2017 - Weekend away for a convention plus photo shoot with a favourite actor!

Which convention are you going to? I'm going to Heroes and Villains at the end of May, hoping to get a shoot with Stephen Amell
I seem to spend half my life at conventions these days, my husband has vendor tables at a lot of them so I tag along for fun :)

Keep up the great work! :D

Yup, Heroes and Villains is the one I'm going to too! We had originally planned to go to Walker Stalker but the tickets sold out WAY too fast! Really excited to meed Stephen Amell and Supergirl (her name escapes me at the moment). :D We'll be heading to LFCC in July too, as we go to that one every year. :)

They are fun, aren't they!

They're brilliant! I was at Walker Stalker last year as a vendor and we're going again this year. I can't wait, it was so amazing last time! Got my photo with the Governor :) Didn't manage to get any photo ops this time but I'm not too bothered. Negan was the one I really wanted but they sold out as soon as they went up! Never mind.

I just bought tickets for photo ops with Stephen Amell, Sean Pertwee (Alfred), Cory Michael Smith (Riddler), Robin Lord Taylor (Penguin) and David Mazouz (Bruce Wayne). I'm only getting photos with Stephen and Sean, the others are for my husband but I might be getting more at a later date haha! ;) I really hope they announce the guy who plays the Flash!

I was at LFCC 2 years ago as a vendor and it was brilliant! Didn't go last year but might make the effort this year. Do you go in cosplay to them? I've never done that, haven't got the courage! We hit a lot of the MCM ones too, they are fun! :) I'm far too excited about this right now haha!

Happy New Year everyone! I hope everyone had a good holiday and enjoyed themselves without feeling too guilty. :)

I probably veered off track for a bit longer than the 3 days I'd originally planned but I guess, with my OH and daughter wanting free reign on the party foodstuffs, that was always a possibility! Still, I was way more controlled than I normally would have been over Christmas so I'm happy with that. Weight-wise, I stayed the same the week before Christmas (phew) and over Christmas week I had a gain of 2.5lbs (which I'm also quite happy with). My worry is that I might see another gain tomorrow as I've only been fully back on plan for the past few days. Lots of fruit salads and speed veg for this coming week I think!

On the upside, I achieved my first target goal at one stone lighter and I felt much better for it. :D

1. Christmas 2016 - Seeing family, currently a lot bigger than last time I saw them.
2. Spring 2017 - Possible mini break to Poland to see friends
3. End of May 2017 - Weekend away for HVFF convention plus photo shoot with a favourite actor!
4. Early June 2017 - My 40th birthday
5. Early July 2017 - Bryan Adams concert
6. End July 2017 - Weekend away for London Film and Comic Con
7. November 2017 - Wedding dress shopping!
8. May 2018 - Getting married in Vegas
9. October 2019 - Holiday to Florida

I've been eating bread over Christmas and that has made me feel awful, bloated and gassy (lovely!) so I'm rather happy to be bread-free again (other carbs don't have that effect, thankfully).

Here's todays menu:

Breakfast:
Smoothie - Banana, almond milk (HeA), oats (half HeB), hazelnuts (half HeB) and cocoa powder (1 syn)

Lunch:
Fruit salad (2.5 syns for adding tinned pineapple)

Dinner:
Meatballs in passata with wholewheat pasta

Snacks:
Fruit, herbal tea with honey (2 syns), glass of almond milk (1.5 syns)

Cons are totally addictive and exciting! We look forward to them all year as we tend to make mini-holidays out of them (nice hotel, meals out etc). Heroes and Villains is my first "specialised" con though, normally we go to the LFCC and Showmasters ones which tend to have anyone and everyone at them. I'm also with you on wishing that they'd get Grant Guston as meeting the Flash would be amazing. Sadly, I've heard he doesn't do any cons. :( As to cosplay . . . I'd LOVE to but haven't yet. Both my OH and I have various costume ideas but we've just never got round to making them. My daughter, however, will be attending HVFF and LFCC as a cross-play Daryl Dixon! :)

That's excellent, well done Wolf! Your breakfast smoothie sounds amaaaaazing too! How do you make it? Do you soften the oats first or just throw everything in together? I think I might have to try that one :p

The smoothie is awesome, it's like having a milkshake for breakfast! :D I usually soak the oats and nuts in milk for at least half an hour (or night before if I know I'll be rushing in the morning) and stick it in the fridge. Then I add the banana and cocoa, top up with the rest of my milk allowance and blend!

After seeing it mentioned on here a few times, I've been browsing the http://twochubbycubs.com/ blog and getting loads of very nice recipe ideas! :D It's the BF's birthday later this month and he's taking a few days off work so I think I'll plan some of the 2CC recipes for then.

Here's todays menu:

Breakfast:
Banana, cocoa (1 syn) and almond milk (HeA) smoothie

Lunch:
Leftover chicken curry

Dinner:
Friday night special: Homemade burger on wholemeal roll (HeB) with spicy wedges, home made yogurt dip and salad (2 syns for margarine, 1 syn for chilli sauce)

Snacks:
Fruit, herbal tea with honey (2 syns)

Smoothie does sound nice, do you have to syn the banana as it counts as mashed??
I love banana and peanut butter milkshakes but haven't had one in AGES, maybe I can still have one within my syns :)

When I have the smoothie for breakfast I don't syn it, as I'm eating exactly the same amount of food as I would if I had the banana sliced over oat porridge. However, if I had it as a snack between meals or just as a drink I'd DEFINITELY syn it. :)
